You can purchase an HDDVR from DirecTV if you really want to. It is $499 plus S/H and State tax. To add an additional leased hddvr to an account is $199. It sounds like that is what they are referring too. It may also be able to purchase them from eBay, but buyer be warned on that. More than likely they either called DirecTV or they called whatever third party they might ...

A couple of tips that may help you out a bit; First off, I would try starting with new AA batteries. The ones that come with the remote control are sometimes mostly dead, and a fresh pair of batteries can make a huge difference. Is the receiver programmed into RF mode yet? If it is, try programming it back to IR first, and then program the remote again to the TV. The remo...

Only the HR44 has a built in W-CCK in it. An Ethernet cable connected to the genie will provide internet to the genie, and clients, but no other receiver. Only a HR44 model genie will provide internet to all internet capable receivers. We have found that disconnecting the Ethernet cable from the genie can help resolve the issue, and stop it from happening again. Regardles...

Directv unfortunately does not have support yet for HBO Go on any Android devices besides Android phones. While we they are working on the software, it has not been released, nor is their a firm release date. Some customers have been able to work, but there is no official support for it. The only tablets that are supported at this time are the Ipad and Kindle Fire. Androi...

Well, first off, we will need a little bit of information. If you would not mind opening the little push open door on the front, right hand side of the receiver, what we are looking for is the Model Number. After we get that, what we need to know is the type of tv that you are using. Is it a high definition television or is it standard definition. Once you have that info ...

My apologies, If there is not input from either the remote, or the front of the receiver, than the screen saver is set to turn on within the above mentioned time frame. There are some customer who never use a remote for DTV, using the front of the receiver instead. However if you do not change the channel, open the guide, or in general press a button that operates the rec...

The only way to get a Genie to be listed on an account as Owned is be be an employee of DirecTV. Either an installer or an agent, however non DirecTV employees will only have it listed on an account as Owned if they had previously worked for DTV when they acquired the Genie.

No, unfortunately the screen save cannot be totally disabled. It will turn on 5 min after the menu is left open, an error message on the screen, or if a video is left paused without any input from the front of the receiver of with the remote. If there is no input from the remote in a few hours the receiver will go to screen saver mode in order to prevent screen burn. I wo...

That is true, DirecTv technical support does not make calls out to customers. Most of your questions are answered by community members, though some are agents in one field or another. Usually that message shows up if someone sets the parental controls. If you do not think that anyone did so, than try a reset by pressing the red reset button that is inside the front RIGHT ...

First off, what we need to do is make sure the receiver has not been connected to the internet with an Ethernet cable, if it has, please disconnect it and reset. The HR34 and HR44 receivers do not like Ethernet cables. If it is not connected, check the screw on line that comes from the wall to the back of the Genie, make sure its tight, even a minor quarter of a turn will...

Your dish is slightly out of alignment. If you do not want to pay the install cost you can always try to point the dish yourself. For standard definition there are two angles you will need to point the dish. If you have standard definition equipment it makes the alignment a little easier. The left and right, which is the azimuth, and the up and down, which is the elevatio...
