Try pulling the power cord and remove the access card. Then plug in the power and let the receiver fully boot up and ask for the access card. If that doesn't do it go into Menu>Recordings>Series Manager and delete all your scheduled recordings/series. Then exit and set them up again. Remember you just restarted the box so it's going to take overnight to get your two weeks...

if your box has been unplugged for more than 30 days, or if there has been a problem with the cable so the box isn't getting a signal then you may have to have the box "reauthorized". A phone call to DTV will fix it.

Is the dish already installed on the RV? Or are you going to set it up on a tripod mount wherever you stop for the night? Also, are you SWM installed at your house or are you conventional? If it's the latter, make sure you remove the BBC before you connect your coax. Then repeat Satellite set up.

Are you able to watch those programs live? If so, and you are still unable to record is it possible you're in a DMA where the local provider is having some kind of dispute or weird contract with DTV? That's my only conceivable answer. I know there are some content protected programs and channels so that if you try to record to a DVR you are rebuffed, but you aren't descri...

Google search sez it's Acquiring Guide Data, seems to be happening mostly on R15s. In my experience, the usual culprits are bad connectors, then a bad switch or LNB. Schedule a service call. Ask the tech to check the entire cable and all connectors, maybe replace the switch or LNB as a precaution.

You might need to upgrade your remotes to something like a more sophisticated multi-function remote, one that may involve a system of small IR sensors attached to each TV and the DTV boxes and any other devices you may want. I wouldn't blame DTV or Vizio for making products that do what they do. I think you need to plan your needs and then do some research to find the pro...

My belief is it has to do with the code inside the particular model of TV. For a long time when I did a code search for a TV I'd stop at the first code that turned the TV off. If the Off button didn't turn off the TV I'd just explain that that's the way the code worked for that model. Nowadays if the first code doesn't turn off the TV I search for the next 2-3 codes and 9...

It's in Pittsburgh now, has been tested for a while on the left coast. A little birdie told me national rollout is 12/12. Just be aware, as with all early adopters, of possible (read: likely) engineering glitches. "Wireless" means no direct coax connection. You still need a power cord w/ brick and AV cable. Genie requires gizmo that looks like a wifi deca to broadcast the...

Not to be rude or dense but did I miss something? I get the programming to the Yamaha. Was not the opening premise to find an RC71 replacement remote to operate the C41 hopefully even in RF mode? Yeah the RC66RBX remote will work in IR mode. But were you able to program it to the C41 using normal process for RF mode?

The temporary cables connecting to your DVR may be bad or an improper type, so you're getting a wonky connection - good enough to get a picture, but it's not allowing all the frequencies to pass and it's blocking your guide info. Make sure you didn't use any cable TV type splitters to splice cables together. Also, make sure any barrel splices are *not* white or clear in t...

I take it you have FIOS if there's a coax run to it. So it has built in wireless. Do you require any of your computer use to be hardwired to the router? If not, you may have luck finding another room with a coax outlet. Then if you can tone that line you could connect that cable to your FIOS set up and relo the router yourself (or call Verizon to relo it if you're squeami...

I had a customer 6-7 months ago whose son was using some device from RocketFish that was sending HD video from HDDVR to tv located in another room wirelessly. Check the internet or try Best Buy. There are plenty of devices that will send SD wirelessly. Read the reviews. Personally, I'd pay more for something that works with less issues. Good luck.

Kind of a matter of aesthetics vs practicality. Close to the house means a shorter drop, less cable to trench, less of a walk to sweep snow off it. Put it on a shorter pipe nestled amongst the bushes is a sweet install. But if you don't like it close to the house for the looks then by the fence is fine. Just be aware of allowable custom charges for trenching the cable unl...

Blinking light on the SWM PI usually means there is a short circuit in the line out from the red To SWM port. If you disconnect that cable the light should return to solid green. The short can be caused by a bit of braid or foil touching the stinger or, as you reasoned, by water getting into a connector and it's burning out, by a mangled cable (frayed at an entry point, c...

If you want to run new cable so you have control over the situation, and it *is* your house, God bless you. I would leave like 24" or so at each end so the tech can put on connectors properly. Just use 3Ghz RG6 solid copper single shield and you'll be good. Any couplers or barrels you use make sure have a blue center (basically anything but white or clear). Folks you meet...
