I am older than dirt and if it was me, would just remove the two dishes U have, or hire someone to do so and let them install on your facia board. Much nicer when it is right there anyhow. About every 4 months I check all my nuts and bolts on mine and after almost 7 years I have 10 transponders that show 100 on signal strength. Little maintenance goes a long way. Best of ...

Unless U have the Genie system, the Client won't do U any good. So go from there. I am sure though that Directv would not let U take someones Client though. Each customer is charged for the use of the units and has an account with DTV.

On one of your units with it turned on, push the button down on bottom left with the - on it and look on screen to see, if it says SWM connected and if so you have one wire connected to Sat. If not, you have 4 connectors available from Sat.

Mine still works with Windows 7, but is very tempermental. I find though when I go to play, if I receive the dreaded message, I just keep going back and trying and eventually it will load and play whatever I have on my DVR. Is a real pain though.

I just called DIRECTV customer service listed in the write up on this page and got through immediately. I have been a customer for over 6 years and never had a problem getting an answer or ever found phone to be busy. You sure U are dialing correctly. No one here works for DIRECTV. This is just an advice site, using their name.

System sounds great and glad to see a happy customer. I am surprised they are still using RG59 Coaxial though. I have nothing but RG6 for my system and it is, just so much better quality.

I went through this same thing in August, when Directv informed me I was entitled to the newest upgrade, which to me meant, the Genie 44, but when I requested it, they told me the couldn't do it.
