I've gone through various of the suggested methods and finally have ended up with the following: I have an Apple Airport Extreme (AE), which has only limited settings compared to the typical routers like Netgear and Linksys. I've set up the AE Network on "bridged mode," and with Internet settings on DHCP. The AE has "acquired" an IPv4 address of 192.168.1.67 from the NVG ...

This will probably be my last post here. Yesterday I went to a Best Buy and an AT&T Store to ask about the 9900. In both places, seemingly knowledgeable salespeople told me that the holdup on the 9900 was due to hardware problems with the device. One said it would be late November, at best, and the other said "several months." True? I don't know, but the both said the inf...

In support of NismoT's post, there is a discussion on Crackberry about problems with the 9900s and 9930s. Not fatal problems, although apparently some of the phones made in Mexico are defective. I think I may have posted something about this earlier. http://forums.crackberry.com/blackberry-bold-9930-9900-f235/things-you-should-know-about-your-bold-9930-9900-problems-solut...

There's one interesting possibility, a non-nefarious one--that just occurred to me. There are reports on Crackberry.com about significant hardware defects with the face of the 9900--the keypad, screen, trackpad--mechanical issues rather than electronic, especially on 9900s made in Mexico (Mesico 4/5 builds) and sold by Rogers and Telus. Here's a link, although I don't kno...

I keep asking myself, "Are they (AT&T) crazy, or are they crazy like a fox?" Could this have something to do with their planned but now contested (by the anti-trust people) acquisition of T-Mobile? Are they trying to look less market dominant for the time being? I have only questions, no answers. But whatever they're doing, it isn't helping with customer loyalty. Maybe th...

It may well be November 20 or even worse, but I don't think that leaked schedule in the link, quite old, means anything. For example, it doesn't list the 9900 GSM that T-Mobile got earlier, and sold out of, in August. My best guess is that the delay is based on some unknown but undoubtedly greedy business reason on the part of AT&T, as has been suggested in the earlier po...

I share the same frustration as everyone else here, although with my paltry account I'm sure AT&T doesn't give a hoot what I say or do. I went to the AT&T Store today in the Chicago area and even looked at the 9810, thinking maybe with the bigger screen and $49 upgrade charge (as opposed to the expected $200-250 for the vaporware 9900) I could convince myself to buy it. A...
