I don't even have GenieGo, I'm just trying to stream content off Directv.com. It used to work flawlessly, and now not at all. I would think Apple users are a significant portion of Directv's customer base, and that gives me hope the fix will come soon. After many steps to try to solve a new inability to stream, including reinstalls, history clearing, and restarts, Directv now tells me it's Apple OS Yosemite that has rendered me incapable of streaming. They're only solution is to use a 'compatible OS'. I assume this is affecting a large number of users.

Thank you for the very good and simple diagnostic step. There is a dial tone. And I used the same phone cable. So it does seem to be an issue with the receiver. I have 2 dvr receivers that have been working fine in a connected network. The newer receiver, an HR334/700, used to display caller ID but stopped doing so after 7/1/2014. Caller ID is still working on my older receiver. The last software update on the HR34 was 6/12/2014. Nothing has changed regarding my land line phone service or equipment. I have 2 HD DVR receivers, a 22 and a 21. My apps fail often on both resulting in service unavailable message 5 or 8. Other network functions (ie on demand and whole home) are always ok, so network connection is not the issue. Going through the tedious reset process always fixes it but not for long. I emailed per the instructions that initiated this thread and got my old multi-room back with a confirmatory email within a couple of hours. Thanks for the great advice to bypass the telephone route.

Cut and pasted an email to Directv per your example. 4 days later, I still haven't gotten a reply. I'm wondering if anyone else had any luck with trying to get results to re-activate self-networked multi-room aka whole home dvr via email. Thanks
