I thought I did when I was messing with it earlier but I just tried again to be sure...and when I plugged it in without the coax plugged in the light does come on. Solid green...so what does that mean?

Update - So I just chatted with customer service and was told I would have to make an appointment for a technician to come out. I asked why it was neccessary and why a new one couldn't just be shipped out like they did when we needed a new remote. She said because it could be a sign of a bigger problem with the dish, wiring or something like that. I suppose that could be ...

Today I went to turn on the tv and was getting error code 775. The tv was working fine this morning. After digging around I realized it was my SWM unit. The light does not come on at all, doesn't blink or anything so it seems to be burnt out. Is this common? It seems that I would have to call and make an appointment to get it replaced, but I see you can buy them on Amazon...

Well, we went out for dinner and came back. Tried unplugging the SWM and plugging it back in like I did earlier and this time it worked. Weird, but it's working now so I guess we'll hope it continues. Thanks for the help!

Ok thanks. I would rather not have to call and wait multiple days for them to come out just to give me a new one. So can I go get one at best buy or something like that?

I do not believe there was any light coming from it before I unplugged it. No damage to the cord as it is all sitting behind a bookshelf where nothing, like my cat, could've gotten to it to damage it.

I was just watching tv, went out to have a cigarette, came back in and I had Error 775 pop up. I checked all the connections and everything is tight. Not having bad weather so that's not the issue. From other threads I've read, that sounds like it is the better option, but I would like to at least be able to try wireless. We have a fast connection and a solid router so I would think it would work fine. I am guessing that menu system uses wifi? It is really slow now that we're not connected, the guide and everything. And if that's the case, it's probably why I can't ...

Guess I should've mentioned both of those. The HR44-700 and we're trying to connect it thru the wireless but we could move the modem/router if we had to hardwire it.
