I haven't read or heard anything about a bug in any software update.

DiecTV replaced a defective DVR HR 34-700 replaced several months ago. The replacement has a problem about three or four times a week. The screen on the TV will turn pink and there will be no sound. There is no pattern to when this happens. I have noticed that it seems to happen at times when the DVR is not recording. The pink screen is corrected by turning off the DVR an...

I have had a Genie DVR HR 34-700 and two Genie minis C31-700 for 7 months. The issues started a month ago and have become more common lately. I'll be watching a show on the TV hooked directly to the HR 34 and the image on the screen will freeze. There will be no sound. If I switch to another station and back to the original station, I can get about 60 seconds of viewing b...

The DIRECTV installer is coming in two weeks. I currently have Comcast and the three receivers that they provided me with only have component outputs. I don't have HDMI cables except from my blu-ray player. I would like to use HDMI. What does DIRECTV recommend? Will the installer provide HDMI cables or should I purchase them myself beforehand?

Sorry to bring this up again....I am going to have three receivers and one DVR. I will keep Comcast for the internet. I'm about to purchase 120 feet of bulk coaxial white CCS RG-6 3GHz 18 AWG copper clad steel with ground wire so I will have it when the installer comes. I called the online seller and he asked if I wanted dual shielded or quad shielded. Which type of wire ...

Thank you for that information. it looks like my siding has a pocket for the entire path that I want the installer to place the wire but I will check it and make sure. I didn't see any foam backing. I am going to have 120 feet of white RG6 with the ground wire ready to go for the installer when he arrives. Since I am going to keep Comcast cable, he will need to figure out...

Thank you very much for that info. That's good to know. Another option is tucking the white grounded coaxial wire into the pockets of the end pieces of the siding. That path will take the wire around one door and two garage doors, around a corner of the house and then under some mulching to the cable box. That path is 110 yards from where the dish will be mounted to the c...

Thank you peds48...One last question. I have vinyl siding. I'm thinking of also buying as 100 count package of these white plastic slide-in vinyl clips for the installer to use. Are they any good and will they hold a coax cable with ground wire? http://cabletoolpros.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=68

Thanks for your posts on the need for ground wire. I found an online company named Summit Source that sells white coaxial cable wire with a ground wire. White is closest to the light almond color of my siding..... Thank you for your quick response. I see Monoprice sells 18AWG 75 ohm Quad shield copper CL2 coax cable. Will that do?
