Agreed. Since the realignment it takes a real whopper to block the signal. Sometimes I start getting "dropouts". I pull up the radar and sure enough there is a huge storm squall to the southwest of my location.

I have read through most of these responses and litzdog911 is right. This is most likely an alignment issue. That's experience talking. Back in 2005, as a new customer, I was ready to cancel my contract the reception was so bad. Even on a clear day, with a few fluffy white clouds, I would have a loss of reception for long periods. It was rare for a day to go bu without an...

Just a heads up, if you haven't discovered it. The initial device setup with Android GenieGo must be done while on a network. If you plan to stream via LTE there is a setting to allow it. Until you get logged-in you can't change the setting. Bob

I updated the DTV Support incident with my finding. I guess it is up to them now. Meanwhile, the folks on this board will be able to address the issue with anyone else that has a problem. Bob

OK, I found the final solution to the problem... In the Settings is " Streaming Options ". Then a check box " Streaming on Cellular ". The default is: UNCHECKED, so no 4GLTE streaming . Now here is the kicker. You can't log-in if that box is not checked and thus, you can't get to the settings . You MUST connect via WiFi first, sign in, and then go to settings and check th...

After all of the discussions and opinions, late last evening I sent an e-mail to DTV support. Here is what I consider the final answer on this matter. Note: I have edited out the stuff about making sure I have the latest version and that stuff as well as telling me to call their support number. (I hate calling support, but that's another story.) "I have verified the most ...

virgo76 Please do. I would be very interested in the results. Especially in view of my response from DTV. I'll post the response in a separate post shortly. Bob

That is indeed good news, virgo76 . It tells me there is hope and it's not necessary a deliberate restriction by DTV. There is a chance that this is only a restriction on the Droid RAZR. After years of Motorola phones I will be looking at Samsung for my next upgrade. My Samsung tablet (Galaxy 10.1, wifi only) is really nice the way it takes advantage of Android features. ...

Late last night I received a note from DTV support indicating that the issue has been sent up to the next level of support. At this time I am taking a wait-and-see attitude. Bob PS excess data usage -- That kind of thing should not be a DTV problem, that's a user issue. As for me, I get 10 Gb a month.Several carriers advertise unlimited text and data with their plans.

litzdog911 said that Apple (iPhone) doesn't support GenieGo. I guess I was getting a little frustrated and sarcastic since there is a GenieGo app on the Apple Store. I have contacted both DTV and Verizon support. I guess I'll see what they have to say. The DTV Android app on Google play says any Internet connection, no wifi needed. That sounds like 4GLTE to me. Once again someone or some company telling me that they know better what is best for me? If I want limits then I should be the one to decide, not DTV. More and more I feel like DTV ripped me off with GenieGo by telling me half-truths and possibly outright lies. I wonder if the Apple folks are having this same problem. Anybody out there? Bob
