I originally tried to get the TV on the mini set-up via a wireless RVU connection. Technician finally gave up. I discussed this in another thread. Anyways, my HR44 is connected to my network via my wireless router as a result of trying to get RVU going. Since that didn't pan out, can I go back to a Cat5 wired connection? Would that help stabilize what's happening here? I ...

I've had the Genie whole home DVR (HR44) for about 2-months. I have 1 of my 3-TVs set-up as a client via a wired (coax) genie-mini . Sorry, don't know what it's model number is. About once a week, sometimes more often, the genie-mini gives me the "can't find server" error when I turn it on. Sometimes this happens when watching it. Resetting it, via the red button, most of...

Thanks for the input. Its just shameful that neither of the DirecTV technicians or the telephone technical support involved with me had any of this knowledge. Hopefully your replies will help the next person trying this route.

Sorry, didn't understand the question. The installer did not suggest that but it would have been a longer wire run anyways. It was thru a wall and only about 10-feet to get to another coax feed. He put in a splitter from my other sat feed & it works fine.

Because the installer couldn't get the wireless set-up to work properly and told me that this was my only option.

So I had a DirecTV technician come to my house to check this out. Results: No go, couldn't get it to work via the RVU interface. Wound up running a coax and connecting a Genie-Mini. It is quite small and will tuck behind the TV; however, I now have three wires running up the wall: power cords for TV & Genie mini along with the coax cable. Will have to run some conduit up ...

So I bought a new 50 inch Sony Bravia R550A. Put it in a different room and went thru the drill of hooking it up wireless via the Genie. The wireless lag is sooooooooo bad its not worth having. Can't watch anything for more than a few seconds at a time. What are my options? Will it work if I run a coax straight to the TV? I sure hope so as I don't want to hang a receiver ...

I found the compatible model numbers. Just couldn't find any info about a wireless connection to the Genie.

Was thinking Samsung since my other TVs are. Spent some time looking for info online on the compatible Sonys. No luck there either. DirecTV is doing a rotten job of covering this topic in my opinion. Too bad, was hopeful that I didn't need to got through the hassle of running another coax cable up the wall. So I take it you have an RVU Samsung hooked up to a Genie DVR? Is...

Just ordered a new Genie HD DVR. I'm going to replace one of my HD receivers and keep my other DVR as the sales person told me this would give me ability to record 7-shows at once. I currently don't have any RVU TVs but am thinking of buying one. I'll be putting it in a room that currently does NOT have a coax cable. Since it will be a wireless, smart TV, will it work wit...
