I will have to check into replacing the mini. I'll try anything at this point. We just got a new Genie main unit mailed to us. Swapped it with the old one and got it setup. Wasn't working any better than the old unit. Now, this past weekend (September 14-15, 2013), the Genie seems to be working even worse. 8 or 9 movies and TV shows recorded and had issues. I am having the same issue (and more) as you are having, with my Genie and the little mini unit. I don't have a solution for the problem, I only have something to tell you about the situation. Directv sent out a technician to check on our units and he said they get calls like this about the Genie all the time and it's a known issue/flaw with the device/service. When we ca...

My family just upgraded from the "standard" Directv boxes (not sure of the model number) to the new Genie system. Since day one we have had multiple issues. We have one main Genie box with one of the small boxes that connects the Genie to another TV in the house.
