Correct. So get a new SWM and LNB.!! IT Will be all part of the mostly free upgrade if you want the 9 tuner capability. They did it for me. I'm now thinking, as I said above, of adding one more HR-24 DVR to my whole home system.

To bad you can't just do the Very BEST solution to your problem: get coaxial wires to those two remote locations. Also DTV has WiFi versions of the Mini Genies I Belive. The Genie itself, the HR 44 version, is very good and I would certainly want to keep it if I were you.

Ditto. I would keep all your DVRs. Even if they have to install a new SWIM and Disk. ( they might have to). I have a mini Ginie. Don't particularly like it. It's to slow in response. But it does work, and I do dues the Component outputs from it at the same time as the HDMI OUT to run the HD analog signal into a Haupague digital capture device so I can convert my DTV recor...

Well I did understand all the nuances you are discussing. And all those instructions do apply to your PC not you directv box. The box should ( if comparable - and not all the boxes can do media share ) you should see under MENU / extra / music and photos. And if you PC is properly configured and has a media share program on it when you select " music and photos" after the...

You may not have MEDIA CENTER on your PC unless you have win7 or win 8 PRO ON your computer. Do you have it? If not you need some other media steamer or player on you PC I think per the streaming instructions on the directv support pages. PPK !!************ +++ ************!! Again. I repeat, I believe all your problems are on your PC side. The streaming media player on your PC must just be there. You don't even start it up. It just needs to be installed on your PC. Then the network permission settings on the PC properly set. Again there is really nothing to set up on the directv side other that your directv whole home system is connected and ...

Ok. But those instructions were probably specific to installing a media streamer of some type of your choice on your PC. Remember my win 7 PRO ALREADY has MEDIA CENTER installed on it. And as the others said that is one of the acceptable programs. It's just on the computer. When these programs are installed they probably just adjust all the settings required for streaming...
