You are right in saying so. And looking at it from that standpoint its easy to see why Directv doesn't support the Roku. However, Apple TV is supported by Directv even though it wasn't at first. Directv started supporting it after they saw how many customers were upset about it (or so the article I read said). Apple TV has Netflix as well as its own library of movies for ...

I agree with peds48, with the addition that you may want to take off the static IP after you do so. It may cause issues later on.

Typically that's a software issue. It should have been resolved by now. Keep in contact with Directv tech support about the problem. Some people have had the problem solved by a replacement receiver, but a tech would replace it if he felt that would be the problem. It could be anything from low signal strength to a problem with the LNB (hand) of the dish, or even a connec...

I know Directv supports HBOGo, and that its the Roku that Directv does not support. I thought I made it clear that its to get Directv to support apps for Roku as I have stated in the first sentence of the third paragraph.

What you want to do is hide the hd channels. That's most likely why you're missing the channels. 1) Go into your menu 2) Go to setting/help and then click on settings. 3) Go to display and then select on preferences. 4) When in preferences the second option should be "Guide HD channels" Most likely that is set to hide SD duplicates. Select it and change it to Hide HD chan...

I recently purchased a Roku and I love it. I'm not that happy that HBOGO isn't supported by Directv. They're too big of a TV provider to not support it. I'm starting this post go get people to support the idea of Directv getting with Roku and support apps for Roku that are denied to us because Directv isn't part of the authorized providers list. If HBO is part of you're s...

A roku is a device that connects to the internet for things like Netflix, and hulu. It is not a wireless adapter. If you have an HR44 you may not need a cinema connection kit. And if you do, you can get them on Amazon. Make sure that it's wireless. You can currently get one new for about 30 dollars.

What ped48 says is right. It may vary by market and whether you go with a sub contractor or a tech from Directv. It is usually a $75 dollar charge. If it's needed it may be credited back to you by Directv. Another thing you'll want to look at is line of sight. Directv dish's are typically pointed south-ish. If there are any trees that may be in the way it could hurt the s...
