My daughter is switching set top boxes, going from HD dvr to a plain hd box. I assume it's easy enough to do, but the question I have is do we need to take the card out of the dvr box and put it in the hd box? Or do we just unplug one and plug in the other and we're good to go?

But since the cable from the dish to the DTV box goes through the wireless connection box, will the regular TV signals be affected if the wireless box is unplugged (leaving the cables connected)?

I have the wireless cinema connection box installed. I live in a very old house. When it was built, electrical outlets apparently weren't considered to be an extremely necessary item, since there are only 3 of the things in the entire living room. (grrr) I have a power strip connected to one of them which has the TV, DTV box, DVD player etc., plugged into it. My question ...

Now that I think of it, you are absolutely right. I'm not sure why I thought they were somehow connected. I apologize.

Recently, I upgraded to a DVR and I also had the Directv Cinema added, specifically for Netflix. I watch Netflix through my DVD player. The problem is that I periodically lose the connection and have to reboot the DVD player to be able to resume watching the program. The problem is, I don't know if the problem lies in the Directv Cinema box or the DVD player. The DVD play...

I've only had Directv for about 6 months, so bear in mind that I could be wrong. But from everything I've been able to gather, stand alone equipment such as VCR's and DVD recorders won't work with Directv.

Is there a way to delete the history of cancelled or deleted recordings on the HR24-500 DVR?

Why doesn't On Demand include all episodes of a program? Or at least all episodes of the current season? For instance, the FX program Sons of Anarchy only lists 3 episodes in the On Demand guide. Why not the entire current season?

Apparently some boxes don't have Auto tune. My HD box had it. My HD DVR box does not have it and it was one feature that I enjoyed because I could set it to switch when I was thinking about a program I wanted to watch and I wouldn't forget and suddenly remember half way through the program. In its place the DVR has Auto record. I don't necessarily want to record every pro...
