Help! My DirecTV receiver makes noise and is overheating. Two days in a row it has shut down to cool down. Possibly a fan problem? Why doesn't DirecTV have anything about this in its Help or Troubleshooting section online? Is there a place on the website to notify them of problems? If so, I can't find it. I hate to have to call. I don't want to be on hold forever.

I fixed it by going into Program Remote, selecting Sanyo, but instead of using the model number I scrolled way to the end of the 650 or so model numbers and selected "model number not listed" even though it was, and it worked!

Mine did this and I went into Program Remote. Where I was to put in model of TV (mine is Sanyo 50842) I selected Sanyo and instead of inputting my model number I scrolled all the way to the end of the 650 or so models and selected "model not listed" even though it was. That did the trick! Good luck.
