you should have no problem adding another splitter. phone signal does not degrade enough to notice. just be sure if you use DSL that it is on the first split to make sure there are no problems.

Only thing I would add to that is let it sit for 24 hours and then go into menu, settings and help, settings, info and test, and run system test. it is possible you have an alignment issue that needs to be resolved or uncover some other issues.

The only problem with connecting an ethernet cable directly to the back of the HR44 is that you shut off the internal DECA. do you have other recivers that are hooked up and sharing ? if so in time this will disable the share and you wont be able to watch recorded content on your other recivers.

sounds like there is an issue with cable or fittings themselves. possibly the splitter ( depending on type of system ) could be LNB issues or other the box itself. I would just go ahead with the service call.

sounds like it could be a few issues to me. looking at your whole set up I would say its either a malfunctioning SWM16 ( doubtful ) the cable may not be rated to 3gig or the barrels ( wall plates ) might no be 3 gig rated ( see if they are clear or orange. clear = bad orange = good ) possibly some bad fittings or a short someplace. The software malfunction with HR34 and H...

you sure can. Go into menu, settings and help, settings, display, preferences. there is an option there that says hide SD dups , show only HD or show both. choose show both and it will give you double channels to everything that has SD dup.
