mikepatt, Once you have done what rolls suggested, you can swap the working and non-networking DVRs and see if the problem stays with the location or moves with the DVR.

peds48/dcd/new2tv, I have now done the following: a. Verified that the original multiplexer installed is indeed a SWM 16. b. Replaced my router with a new one, a Netgear R6300. c Reconfigured all for DHCP addressing., then restored defaults on the Genie and the two DVRs and the H25 d. Immediately after I followed this procedure which peds48 posted on a couple of other top...

peds48, I started out with DHCP addresses everywhere and first experienced the problem. I first assigned fixed IP addresses because it is a common problem isolation technique in networked equipment, and it causes all of the devices to avoid having to execute a bunch of its own code, and also eliminates a whole bunch of peer-peer protocol stuff between the DHCP server and ...

peds48, as I said above, I disconnected the Ethernet connection between my CCK (the Ethernet to DirecTV coax bridge) and my Internet router, and red button reset all of the devices. The Genie and all other devices could see and play all of the shared content (everything appeared to work correctly, except obviously for the features that require Internet access). I left it ...

peds48, your suggestion to disconnect the CCK from the router was a good one, One small clarification - I believe you meant APIPA instead of IPIPA. With the CCK disconnected from the Internet, and after red button resetting all of the devices, all sharing works. I will leave it disconnected from the Internet for probably overnight. I did make one other change. A a result ...

new2dtv, I understand your math. The collection of equipment was ordered at the same time and neither the customer service rep or the DirecTV authorized installer said anything about the limit. I don't think the whole system has ever gotten close to recording a total of 8 shows at a time, and with respect to my problem, although it is I guess possible, I think it unlikely...

The menus on the Genie and the other two DVRs say connected to the Internet via coax. From my OP (slightly modified): NETWORK: All devices are connected to DirecTV coax. DirecTV coax is connected to a DECA BB (AKA Cinema Connection Kit). All devices show as connected to the Internet, and all can access all features, e.g. YouTube, etc. DECABB is connected to a Gigabit Ethe...

Update on the problem: After the last software update (today) on the HR34-700 Genie to version 725, the Genie could see one of the other two DVRs. I then unplugged the HR34-700, removed the access card, let it sit for several minutes. After the HR34-700 came back up, it could see the two other DVRs under whole home status, and all the playlist entries for the other two DV...

Good catch of my error. I left out the word "cannot" as in "My ISP only supports one DHCP-assigned IP address so I cannot connect the DECA BB to the cable modem"

SUMMARY: After working correctly for months, the Genie HR34-700 stopped being able to see either of the two HD-DVRs in Whole Home status (and cannot access their playlists) , but the two HD-DVRs see each other and also see the Genie HR34-700 (and can access their playlists). All devices show as Internet connected and all other features work on all devices. What else can I...
