Well my "new world" on the iMac is still an elephant I'll have to eat one bite at a time. The Serviio on the iMac seems to stream well to the DirecTV boxes, but ONLY in the "native file formats" and I cannot figure out how to get it to transcode WAM, WMV, etc. like TVersity did on the Windows PC. I installed TVersity 1.7.4.1 in the Windows7 I am running as a virtual machi...

dcd, Thanks for the link...just out of curiosity I went ahead and tried the #4 LBA Fix selection. Since I was going to return the drive to Western Digital anyway I figured I didn't have anything to lose. I deleted the series that first "froze up" the HR20(my wife has gotten into The Client List on LifetimeHD). Then I went back through the File Verification, SMART Short Te...

litzdog911, Thanks...yeah I was tired last night and didn't notice that when I went back to the BIST menu from the Surface Test it defaulted back to the "Internal" drive and that's why it PASSED the SMART test:0) The WD external is toast and I'm getting it replaced. Soooo, do you have any idea what that "LBA Fix" selection in the Hard Drive Utilities does??? And are the S...

dcd, It's been a long, long time since I've been on the forums!!! Well, some folks never learn(why I'm posting to this old thread:0( The HR20-700 video started pixelating/jittering/freezing up for a split second. Once, the video froze(playing a recording) and the DVR became unresponsive and had to RBR it. I noticed the Receiver Self-Check process took a long, long, long t...

borg, As pointed out by user joed32(and others) comparing a Roku & iPad is "apples and oranges" and makes no sense. The sole purpose of a Roku device is to deliver content(that as aptly put by joed32 is in direct competition with the service provided by DirecTV). An iPad is a tablet computer, no different than a desktop PC(which DirecTV also allows HBO GO to be delivered ...

So, what's up with the banner I have been seeing on my local FOX channel that says DirecTV customers will no longer receive this channel after 3/1/2013??? It says Dish & Cable customers are OK, but DirecTV customers should call DirecTV and complain. Are "they" having another one of those "contract renewal pricing squabbles"????
