Disadvantage - you don't get "trick" play with the h25 - pause, rewind, ff... Advantage - If your Genie has problems, the h25 will continue to work. H25 does not take up one of the Genie's tuners.

Wouldn't the recording be going on the second tuner and a down arrow to go to double-play switch to the channel that is being recording allowing him to back up? I think I've done this before........

FYI Peds, the newest AZ/ELs have a single bolt on the top to secure the azimuth.

If your SD TV only has a coax input, then you'll also need a video converter (RF Modulator) to go from composite input to coax output. These usually can be found at Walmart/Best Buy/Radio Shack for around $20.

Just did a service call on one of these. Turns out there was water in the LNB. As they day got warmer, the water condensed on the lens causing the outage. Once it got warm enough the condensation evaporated and the signal came back until the next day at around the same time. Best to call DTV and get a service call.

You may have a crack in the lnb housing which is allowing moisture in during weather events. It's 8 years old has gone though a series of freezes. I'm surprised this doesn't happen more often. They're just made of plastic. I've had upgrades where the lnb is half full of water.

First time I saw that ad, I had to rewind and go back. Yep, they really said it. The small print at the end even said it wasn't really wireless. Even with the C41's they still need an electrical plug and a connection (HDMI) to the TV. Maybe they're trying ot compete with the AT&T wireless ads. Anywho, totally misleading......

The gist of his question stemmed from the desire not to have any surprises. The DTV guidelines require RG6, RG59 is not allowed. If he has RG59, and the tech installs according to the guidelines, he must replace the RG59 with RG6. Will RG59 work on a non-powered line? yes, but it's not to code. If the job is QC'd and RG59 is used, the tech has to go back out and do the re...
