Well never mind I am retarded. Serviio is actually showing up. It was just that it did not say Serviio but the name of my PC instead. Similar to how it looks if you use windows media player. So I mistakenly thought it was showing WMP but when I drilled down into the folders Icould tell it was the serviio file structure.

Not sure if it is possible to do but could you connect your dvr to your hotspot with a wire and have the rest of your devices use wireless? I know maybe its not practical, or not possible, and possibly a pain, but just throwing the idea out there.

Please anyone correct me on this but is the Genie 2.4GHZ and 5GHZ compatible? If this is the case, and if your router were dual band, you could try the other band. Depends on which band your current phones operate as to deciding to switch wireless bands. if you just have 2.4ghz router and phones, then you could try setting the router and or phones to different channels. I...

I recently installed Serviio on my PC and Mediashare is not recognizing it no matter what I do. I already have windows media player set to stream, and Mediashare sees that just fine. I also have Mezzmo installed and Mediashare sees that just fine. I also have another media server running on my router with an attached hard drive and Mediashare sees that fine as well. Also ...

There is no need to worry about TVersity. I also use the version that dcd has mentioned and it works just fine, has never once screwed up anything. Besides that it is not BETA software anyway, it was a full production release of the software at the time. Mediashare in BETA technically but that resides on the DVR so it won't hose anything up on your computer.

Wow that's the most ridiculous reason I have heard yet, as to why Mediashare isn't working. It has nothing to do with your processor, that's for sure. You may as well say Mediashare won't work if your computer case is plastic.

As far as smartphone platforms, Apple has about 40% of the market, Android has about 50%. Windows has about 3%. It's easy to see why they have put no effort into it. Similar numbers for tablets.

Yep it seems to be all fixed now on 4.3. Maybe fixing it to work on 4.3 is not technically an improvement but a bug? Maybe they don't want to acknowledge they dropped the ball there on 4.3?

Personally I have my tablet sitting near me when I watch tv and I find it to be much better at providing information than any of those tv apps. I think they were kinda cool for a while but technology has moved on.

I have a Denon receiver as well. Do you have a unit that included the Audessey automatic equalizer/ speaker set up program? If so, have you rerun the automatic setup?

Again I have to say, though I like Android, I do not understand their release process. This is hardly confined to Directv or whoever the actual developers of their app are. I have 4.3 and a couple apps that I have were broken by the release. I don't know where the fault exactly lies but either the developers are too lazy to test their apps before the release is made avail...

It seems you do not hear about this from Apple , you don't hear about their apps breaking everytime a new version of IOS comes out. Maybe it is because Apple imposes stricter standards on their apps and is not as much a free for all an Android. I guess each ecosystem has its pluses and minuses. A closed system is closed but likely gives you a more consistent experience. T...
