Additional note for B, when you call dtv, do it during normal business hours PST, and if you get someone that says you need to have a tech come on site, say OK, hang up and call back, till you get someone that knows what RVU is. It took me three calls. Sent from my Verizon Wireless 4G LTE smartphone

You do not need a DECA for Samsung RVU if your HR44 is connected to your local network!!!

I was able to get DTV to add a client license to my account so that I can activate my Samsung RVU receiver. I took three calls to different agents, but I finally got someone who had a clue. Try calling between 9 and 5 Pacific time.

Peds, with all due respect, there is no difference. RVU, at its least common denominator is just an app that runs on a thin client, whether that thin client is a C41, a Samsung TV, a PC or even a smart phone, it is all the same RVU application on each device. Cisco, Samsung, DirecTV and BroadCom created the protocol and based it on DLNA. It’s currently in Ver 1.0. The nex...

Although Samsung claims to not support it, I have the RVU working wirelessly. It is the same technology as the C41W - which is also wireless RVU

MoCA????? Doesn't that require a Coax? The whole purpose of RVU being built in to the TV is so I can move the TV anywhere and simply not have to worry about any wires (except power of course). Or, will the tech put the Samsung on DTV's SSID, which is not really MoCA, it's just a stand alone wireless ethernet network?

$49 for a tech to come to my house to make a phone call to add the client license. That's total BS - It's just a matter of time before I can stream anything I want, and the DTV idiots will be out of business - CAN'T WAIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

mshowman, I'm having the same issue. I'm so upset. I just need another client license added to my account and DTV is telling me they need to send out a tech for $49. I am in the same boat as far as I can get my Samsung to work fine by replacing an existing client. Did you ever find anyone at DTV who understands what needs to be done? peds48 - Is there a special number I c...

Couple thoughts: - Since the receiver and wireless router are on different floors, how is the signal strength at the receiver? - Is you SSID showing up in the list? I'm assuming it is and the signal strength is good so... Just as a test, I would make the wireless network open, meaning removing all security and make sure the SSID is set to broadcast. Power cycle the receiv...

Finally got it. For everyone that needs to use the DirecTV RC71 remote with a Samsung or Sony TV with built in RVU. It's probably best to reset the remote first: Press MUTE and SELECT together, wait a few seconds for the LED to blink twice then press 981. Then press MUTE and SELECT together again and enter the code for your TV. Samsung: 54000 Sony: 54001 Yes the remote wi...

Yes, the Samsung is activated as a client and working perfectly. I am using the Samsung remote at this time, but would love to use a DirecTV remote, but it looks like that is not possible. I may call Samsung this weekend to see if they can help me, but I’m guessing that it will not be supported till a future update of the Samsung firmware.
