I'll try that again. But I'm pretty sure I tried that and it didn't work either. Maybe it doesn't work from the list menu while the program is playing. But maybe when I am just on the program alone it will. If not. I will just use my old remote!! Thanks though! Mary

Thanks for the quick response, but that doesn't work either. I hit "back" and get into the "list" menu but hitting exit, just puts me back on the taped show I was watching. And there is no "stop & keep" option. I have the same problem on shows where I tape an extra 5 minutes, lets say to make sure I get all the show. But in order to stop it I have to fast forward to the e...

On my new Genie DVR, how do you stop watching a show, but keep it? I asked a question and am able to get back to the "list" page while watching a show, but how can I get back to live TV without deleting the show I was watching. This Genie is great in some ways but pretty not user friendly in others. Thanks in advance!! Mary

Hi all, I just got a genie receiver and I have an issue. When watching a recorded show. How do I get it to just stop. Some shows I tape and extra few minutes to be sure I get the whole program and on this new remote there is no stop button. I have a pause/play button, fast forward, etc. But no stop. Our remote is having some serious delay problems. We can go to use it and get no response. At first the green lights won't light. Thanks I will try that. Do you think that would tell me anything about the freezing when deleting a recorded program? That happened again last night. It is quite irritating. I guess I will have to break down and actually call them.

Thanks for the heads up. I wondered about satelite internet. I have heard bad things. Im not in a huge rush. I will just check it out with ATT and see what I can get, fairly cheap. Thanks for all your help!

Thanks, No i don't have internet at my home. I just thought it was weird they didn't mention I needed it to get On Demand. I guess I will call them and see what they charge for it and see if its worth it. Thanks for the help. Oh, and I will try the remote thing when I get home and can find out which model I have.

Yes, I have a HD DVR. Funny, you think when I was ordering my HD service, when the lady asked me "do you want on demand" she might have mentioned I need internet. Or been able to tell I don't have it, while she was sitting there looking at my account. I really do like my DirecTV but this kind of irritates me. Not everyone has internet in their homes or wants it. Oh well, ...
