The movie is in a resolution your TV does not support. Go into settings on the DirecTV box and make sure 1080p is UNchecked. If you have an old projection TV, make sure 720p is UNchecked also. EDIT: After I posted I realized I had misread your post. Widescreen movies are filmed in all sorts of different aspect rations, not the 16:9 your HDTV uses. That means when a movie ...

This particular DNS is probably internet DNS, Domain Name System (see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Domain_Name_System.) The message has nothing to do with DirecTV, it's coming from your TV and indicates a problem with the TV's internet connection.

Why did you get the SL3? The SL5S plus a power inserter, with the necessary splitters, would work fine for you. With the SWM system, each receiver/DVR only needs one cable.

If you do have SWM then the guide data is always from the 101 satellite and so you should not be able to get those errors. Even if you don't run sat setup correctly you should not get those errors. Try rerunning sat setup on all the boxes and see if that clears the problem. It shouldn't, but at this point anything is worth trying.

A number of people have reported their local CBS station replaced the HD feed with an SD one because they were having problems. Not something DirecTV can do anything about.

If you don't live in the Comcast New England area all the professional games will be blacked out. What's your zip code?

Your signals are OK, certainly nothing that would cause the issues you describe. Did you try turning HDMI control to "off"? What remote do you have?

The others (particularly 99ca and 103ca) would be particularly helpful. Meanwhile let's look at your "switch off" issue. quote: Also, Genie will freeze when I shut off TV and sound bar but leave on Genie. Then, I have problems shutting it off to restart it. At times, have had to unplug it to get it to reboot. unquote How are you switching things on and off? try switching ...

You can't use that remote in RF with that genie client. You need the RC7x series of remotes. You can buy one from DirecTv although people like solid signal are usually less expensive

Most Tvs have a default setting which defines which of the inputs will be selected when the TV powers up. Check your TV manual for this. You need to set the default to whatever input is being used for DirecTV.

If you have SWM, the guide data is always taken from the 101 satellite regardless of the channel you tune to, so your guide data issue will go away.. Easiest way for you to go SWM would be to replace the LNB at the dish with an SWM LNB. Unplug the one you have, plug in the new one. You are in the Omaha DMA, and your SD locals come from 119, which is why you have a 5LNB sy...

As shannon says, the channel provider does not want you to FF through the commercials. If you go to the channels web site and watch episodes from there, you will find the same thing - no FF.

No, can't be done. Programs are encypted to the specific DVR so they can't be transferred.

the channel controls the on demand server so you should ask them. But the on demand content changes all the time so the missing episodes might appear.

yes, that was the conclusion I had come to. If you had told me you were using IR emitters I would have come to the conclusion earlier! It was thinking you might have other devices in the closet that led me to this conclusion. The HR44 responds to RF and IR control simultaneously (a feature many DirecTv users had been asking for) so if there is any spillover from IR direct...
