An interesting development: when you go to view the other apps by Developer "DirecTV" the other version of GenieGo "for tablets" is no longer visible (for me). I don't know if that means they marked it incompatible or if they pulled it off the Play Store.

Does anybody have an update on this issue? I see that the DirecTV app for Android was updated on 12/27, but not the GenieGo app (which still doesn’t work). Does anyone know when will the next GenieGo update be released? (Or when will the GenieGo functions be merged with the DirecTV app like the Apple iOS version?)

Interesting. Do you still have to "prepare" programs in your Genie in order to view them? Or is your entire playlist available?

Thanks. Do anyone know when the Android version will include GenieGo too? If Genie Go doesn't work on my tablet now, it may still not work even if folded into the DirecTV app so I don't know if this is a silver bullet but I guess support for the standalone app is waning if they are concentrating on integrating GenieGo in the new DIRECTV app.

I see the "DirecTV for Tablets" version (updated 12/20) when I click "See more" but after I install that version, it doesn't even open (says "unfortunately, DIRECTV has stopped" and asks to report the error). The only version that comes up for me in my Google Play store is the Dec. 19 version. DirecTV apparently merged the GenieGo app functionality into the Apple (iOS) version of its DirecTV app, but I don't see the same in the Android version (on the phone, DirecTV told me the Android version would be updated later). Dell released an update for Android 4.3 today. I uninstalled GenieGo, upgraded from 4.2.2 to 4.3, re-installed GenieGo, and it still goes to a blank screen. Warning: Do not leave the GenieGo app open (in the blank black screen state), even if only as a background process. I switched tasks to something else and the next morning my entire memory was full. I had to uninstall the app and all of its files to retrieve that memory. So even though the screen may be blank, the app is doing something and completely fills all available ...

DirecTV's new equipment fixed the problem. Yesterday they successfully installed a Genie and Genie Mini yesterday, replacing my 2 H24 HD receivers and relocating 2 HR24 DVRs.
