Is there a DECA attched to the HR24? There should not be one. The cable should go directly to the receiver without any DECA adapter. To get on demand, you need to have the system connected to your router. Did the installer do that?

If you plug in an ethernet cable to your HR24, you will disable your whole home DVR. You cannot use both using ethernet and coax.. To receive internet and Whole home DVR, you need to have the internet kit attaach a coax to your SWM system. this will allow internet and whole home to work together.

You must have the SWM system installed. You must have at least 1 HD DVR. Other HD receivers may need to be upgraded. Older HD receivers will require the DECA system adapters. If you want internet connection, a coax line will be needed to run to your router. You do not need any ethernet cables. Whether you need 1 receiver or 10 receivers, the cost is the same. About $150 i...

I just received 2 new HR24-100 receivers to update my system for 3D. After a long telephone call to get them activated, something about the receiver ID coming from an invalid manufacturer, I am waiting for a software download to give me the Whole home DVR and 3D capabilitiy. Has anyone had any new receivers fail to get the download? I even tried a forced download and came...

A crazy possibility. Is the plug that the power supply is plugged into, a wall switched plug? If it is, you may have turned off the wall switch and turned off the power to the power supply. Try the power supply on a different plug in the house and see if the green light comes on.

Peds 48 An HDDVR while it has two tuners only requires one coax under the SWM system. 4 HDDVR's and two HD receivers need just six coax cables for all ten tuners. A SWM 8 switch will accomodate that. sbhtax

Call Directv and tell the CSR you want the whole home system without a DECA installation. They may protest but you can insist. You may have to upgrade your programming to a current package. You will then have an unsupported system that should work. As a side note, what is your objection to having the proper DECA system installed?

Larry, My understanding is that the non DECA system is not supported by Directv if that is a concern. Also, according to Directv, the system can support 15 receivers. Having 6 HD receivers would now allow you to use a SWM 8 switch instead of a SWM 16 which may give you better results. Steve

Answers to some of your questions. You need DECA adapters on all receivers except the HR24 DVR's as they have the DECA built in. You cannot run the system on the ethernet. You need to run a coax cable from your SWM 16 to your router. At the router you will need a DECA adapter and a power supply to power the adapter and use the ethernet end of the adapter to attach to the ...

Check the power supply on your SWM connection. If its unplugged or the power is off, you will get the searching nag. There is a green power light on the power supply. The power supply must be on at all times.
