I would like some opinions on my setup. I currently have a new Samsung HDTV with Directv ready and several HDDVR's. Tomorrow I'm getting a new Genie. Should I.... 1. Place the Genie in the living room and keep all of the other DVR's in the house so that I can record up to 9 shows at once and have about 2TB's of recording space? 2. Forget about the older DVR's and replace ...

I'm definitely not worried about power outages (1 hurricane, 1 tropical storm, and several blizzards = NO outages), and I'm not too worried about surges, at least not to the point that I would spend a few hundred dollars on a UPS. I am worried though that my DVR's are running on borrowed time, however. I'm guessing that 2 out of the 3 are just about 6 years old now. Would...

I have had several HD-DVR's (HR21-100, and HR22-100) for several years now. They are all networked together via CAT5 with my AT&T Uverse gateway acting as the hub. They are all constantly recording shows, sometimes I look at the list and we have 6 shows recording at once. My question is, what is the life expectancy of these DVR's? And, what could I expect to see when one ...

I'm having a problem with the ABC feed here in Hartford, CT. I know others are experiencing the same thing around the country. I noticed it the other day when I was watching Dancing With The Stars. It was so bad I had to turn the channel. Today, the picture is "stuttering" during the UConn vs. Michigan game. It seems it happens only during live events, the commercials are...

I've run media share unsuccessfully trying to stream home movies stored on the computer. I had to install TVersity to make it work. Will Apple TV allow me to stream a tv show, say something from nbc.com or abc.com, to my tv downstairs?

I would like to know if I can stream content from my desktop to my tv. Sometimes we like to stream video from the WWW and watch it on my tv on the 1st floor. We do this by connecting a laptop to the tv directly (we bypass the HD-DVR totally) and watch. This setup is just ok, the video card in the laptop causes some issues. So, I would like to know if I can stream content ...

I meant that they didn't work while the DVR wasn't responding to any of the inputs from the remote. Resetting the NVRAM didn't work. Same old thing happened last night while watching a recording. Come to think of it, it doesn't respond to the remote while watching recordings. I don't recall it ever happening while watching live tv.

Nope. I just tried resetting the NVRAM (think that's what it's called). Not sure if that will work though.

So, tonight it's just not responding to my commands. It doesn't want to fast forward, pause, show the play list......anything. However, the screen isn't frozen. Currently I'm watching a recording of "The Mentalist" with no issues.......except I'm forced to watch the commercials.

I guess I can take a look, but that doesn't explain why all of a sudden the DVR freezes and is slower over the past 2 months or so. Nothing has changed in terms of my settings or equipment. Could it be that the DVR is just slowing down with age, kinda like a computer.

I have a Logitech All-in-One remote, so I don't know if that is possible. Also, whether I use the Directv remote or the Logitech, the Playlist Freezes (along with the picture in the upper right corner) and the DVR is slow. So I don't think it's the remote.
