It looks like the best option for me is to go 3rd party. I have an old Harmony Hub that I can put on the other side of the wall and control via my phone or Ipad. I was looking for something more "remote" like and user friendly, but I really don't want to pay the $350 for the Harmony Ultimate. I guess I will just have to mess around with a few things and see what works bes...

I have been doing some reading, and apparently the RC66RX will not control the Genie or Minis via RF, only IR. It will control older receivers, but only the RC71 will control the HR44 or C51s that I have. I need RF as all of my AV Equipment is on the other side of a wall. The only thing you can see in my basement is the speakers, projector, and screen. If it will not to R...

I think for now I'm going to purchase an RC66XR. I didn't realize that they were so inexpensive. I'm just going to relocate the Mini from my spare room for now, and then put it back if need be. If I find myself moving it a lot, I'll end up getting a wireless Mini. The only problem I see with this option is that I currently have an HR21 in my basement. If I get a mini for ...

You are correct in your statement that I wanted to get the video from a remote receiver to the other television in my basement. I wanted to do this so that I could use a receiver upstairs to tune in another game on a different channel, but watch it in the basement. Pretty much splitting off what the receiver in my spare room is watching and sending it to the second baseme...

Yeah, I was trying to stay away from the the Balun. I have configured a few Black Box devices where we run 1080 video from one location to multiple displays over a single CAT6, as long as the distance isn't more than 300ft. These units were about $700 a piece. It would be easier to just get another receiver for that price. With me only having one receiver in the basement,...

I recently had my system upgraded in my new house. I wired the house with 2 RG6 and 4 CAT6 connections on most walls, with others having 1 RG6 and 2 CAT6. All of this is wired back to a four post rack in my basement so that I could manipulate things a little. I currently have an HR44 Genie in my living room, with 3 C51 Minis in the bedrooms. I also have an HR21 in my base...

THANK YOU! That is all I really needed. I will run at least four for Direct TV and leave it at that. I believe the way I run it in my house will not matter as long as they all come to the same point in the basement. I'm sure my LOS will be decent too. I really don't think the trees are as high as I think they are. I was more worried about the angle since the rear of my ho...

Yes, that is what I told the tech on the phone. That four is the most I should need, so if I supply four I should be covered for all cases. He told me know, that I may need more depending on what equipment I may have installed and how many receivers I have. So I wasn't sure what answer was correct. I think I'm just going to run a home run from my basement to every outlet ...

Yeah, I did that as well. I'm just not exactly sure what the height of the trees are. According to the site and the approximate location of the new house, the tree line can not be taller than 105 ft. I'm guessing that they aren't, but I guess a trip is necessary to decide the actual height of the trees. I will need to do a little more research as to how many coax runs wil...

Yes, that is the tool that I used before. After looking at it, I can't tell from the overhead picture whether or not I will clear the tree line that is in the backyard where the new house will be. I try and upload a picture here and it will not allow me to do so.

I tried calling the 1-800 number and they were pretty much no help either. They pretty much said they could send a tech out, but they can only schedule out two months in advance. I tried to explain that I didn't want them to come out, I wanted to know what I needed to do ahead of time on the build of my new home that would make the new Direct TV install as clean as possib...

I was hoping so. The road show in your screenshot has now been extended. My placement would be a little further back from the street, and closer to the tree line, but I didn't know how much that would affect my LOS. I wouldn't be worried if there weren't 30-40 foot trees all along the back. I guess I will just have to see. In the mean time, I will plan to run at least 4 r...
