Having more customers translates to better profits. As far as the other things, there's too much cheese. Yes, AT&T has something that others don't, and vice versa. End of story. -Alex...

Well, im glad you guys think that diminishing options isn't a problem, looking at the app store reviews of the various malware/bloat AT&T forces upon their devices, I know there are plenty of frustrated folks, and that I'm not the only one. I'm sure AT&T is banking on the fact that VZW is worse than they are to carry them through. Solid business model, throwing rocks at b...

Kit Kat is the most current, and the best choice if your friend doesn't want to be able to use his SD card for anything useful, or if he doesn't like a smooth user experience. Make sure its an AT&T Kit Kat device for maximum effect. If upgrading from an iPhone it's perfect since there's no choices to make really, except the mandatory software sucks compared to Apple, sinc...

If an update would seriously have a negative impact on your device, I would highly doubt that the manufacturer would release it in the first place (e.g. you don't get iOS 7 on...

It supports AT&T. The phone may also support LTE, should they choose to graciously allow you to access it. Unless at some point they change their mind later. It also fully supports all of the mandatory AT&T malware that comes preinstalled. So don't worry, your brand new 700 dollar phone can lag just as much as your old one, so the learning curve is pretty easy.

I would have to agree with the 'never update' advice. Most updates are just AT&T installing more malware and data sucking bloat on the phone anyway. In an honest ecosystem like an open source one, where there is peer code review and a community supporting it, updates are usually good, but AT&T doesn't believe in being open or honest, and prefers to ram viruses and malware...

AT&T's sock-puppet army says: Choices are bad for you. Choices are not what you really want. If you want choices, here's your choice, we've got this one phone over here for you, its never top of the line because its released with Q1 specs in Q4, and there's only one of them a year, and there might not be any more coming out, and the availability still sucks, but you shoul...

My advice, keep calling back until you get a rep that isn't a jurk. And be as nice to them as possible, remember - they are just the poor sap on the other end of the phone that gets blamed for AT&T's stupid policies. I haven't ever tried to get away with anything, I've always had a legitimate complaint whenever I've dealt with them, but I've always been impressed with how ...

The model is "appliance" not "homebrew computer" - these appliances do what their manufacturers want them to do. If that's what you want to do, great. If not, then this isn't th...

Yeah, it sucks, doesn't it. I personally have a hard time grasping how "unlimited" can be "unlimited" when over a certain amount they put a limit on you. I don't ever remember being sold a plan that was "Unlimited ability to authenticate your device on our network at no additional charge, that may or may not be usable depending on whether you've used your 5gb limit [thesa...

Bad customer service is blaming the customer ...
