Hi SomeJoe Yea, I tried that already and it didn't work. Tried many different number combinations with the same results, including the 255.255.248.0 Just went ahead and hooked the old modem back up for now and will deal with the disconnects from time to time. So far, not sure why, but it has only disconnected once in the past two days. Before, it was at least twice a day. ...

Yea, running passthrough mode, always have been. MY router assigns all the 192.168.x.x numbers. That why I wish I could just get a straight modem with out built in router. For me, its much easier to work with. But yea, going to stick with the old modem for now. One question though, if I bought a new "modem only" will it still work with the plan we have now, U-verse. Or is ...

Hi David As mentioned before, setting the routers IP, subnet and Gateway IP works fine, with the old modem. Not with the new one since the IP is different than with the old one. Subnet and Gateway are the same, but, the router will not accept the IP of the new one. And yes, I know I can not change those IP's, just wishful thinking.. I am by no means new to computers, howev...

Hi David Yes, connecting directly from my computer to the new modem I can access internet and the modems GUI.. As for the router, nothing was changed at all. I set up the new one to match the old modem identically, however, it would not see the router MAC address. With all setting the same as the old modem it should have worked fine. But, as mentioned it does not and the ...

David. Thanks for all the help, however, the new modem came in, I set it up EXACTLY like the old one, but, it woulld NOT detect my router. Yes, I triple checked ALL setting to be sure they were correct from the old one to the new one. All changable settings were exactly the same. Reset both modem and my router, restarted them both numerous times. Checked setting on both s...

David, Yes, I have done a direct connect several times testing which unit may be at fault. Same results, loses connection and all lights are green. AGain, unplug the modem and plug it back in and it works for a few hours.

Hi David, or whom ever is reading this As for unplugging and replugging the modem, it always works just fine for a while. Then after a few hours it drops again. As mentioned, it is not browser cache, bad connections or any thing else as I have tested them all and have done factory resets several times to both modem and my router. And, as I mentioned in my original post, it...
