Please. I want information on plain old telephone service (that will work longer than a few hours during a power outage) that AT&T hides. What made you think I might qualify for low-income programs?

I just finished a conversation with an AT&T representative who gave me the following information after consulting the billing system for my area: Primary phone line with per-call service costs $14.25/month (above-the-line), with an allowance of 30 calls/month. After 30 calls, AT&T charges $0.21/call. Measured rate service costs $18.50/month (above-the-line), with local ca...

Thanks, but I specifically wanted confirmation on a specific example: The fine print for measured rate service says, "Measured rate residential service is $18.25/mo. and includes a $6.75 allowance. Each minute costs $0.04 to $0.06." From what I gather, if my calling averages $0.05/minute, then I can call 6.75 / 0.05 = 135 minutes/month before I start paying more than $18....

my thoughts wrote: There is no reason you could not order VOIP only if desired, I know of customers with just that service only. That contradicts my experience. First, if I try to order just U-verse Voice from the Product and Service Selection page I captured above, I get the message: Selecting U-verse Home Phone Service requires at least one additional U-verse service, e...

aviewer wrote: L2P - It is great that you were able to post your screens. I was able to follow the mess. Is your problem that you cannot order POTS service? Yes, the site won't let me order Standard Home Phone Service. I'll try calling after I receive a response to my PM. I still want to know how the pricing for "primary phone line with per-call service" and "measured rat...

Thanks, my thoughts! I'll call to ask about buying the equipment instead of renting.

Let me show you what I'm seeing: When I go to AT&T Landline Home Phone Service Provider - Residential Home Phone Choices , I see two Standard Home Phone Service options: flat rate and measured rate. If I click on "Learn more," I see another option, "Primary phone line with per-call service." After I go back and click "Shop Now," I enter my ZIP code, then full address: (To...

Whether I can get it or not, I still want to know the pricing for the 3.0 Mbps down DSL without home phone. It appears to be $29.95/month for 6 months. The fine print mentions a $5/month promotional discount, so I'm assuming the subsequent price is $34.95/month. Is this correct? What is the above-the-line price after the promotional period? What are the below-the-line tax...

I still have trouble ordering Standard Home Phone Service. When I click Shop Now, the site won't let me buy Standard Home Phone Service! Also, I still want to know how pricing for "primary phone line with per-call service" and "measured rate service" works. (Click "Learn more" under Standard Home Phone Service .) I'll send a PM referencing this post. P.S. Under Additional...

[I didn't see a non-Uverse phone forum, so I'm posting here.] I live in zip code 93940 and tried shopping for standard home phone service . I think I understand how the pricing for "primary phone line with flat rate service" works, but how do the pricing for "primary phone line with per-call service" and "measured rate service" work? I don't see any pricing information on...

If Red Shift can offer dry loop DSL to me, AT&T should legally have to offer dry loop DSL to me too, right?

I live in Monterey, have U-verse HSI Pro (3.0 Mbps down), and want to switch to DSL without home phone. After a little browsing, I found the DSL without home phone page , which suggests I can get service similar to what I'm getting now for $29.95/month for 6 months. (The fine print mentions a $5/month promotional discount, so I'm assuming the subsequent price is $34.95/mo...
