Same problem here. We set Modern Family to record, and only got the first episode. I had been assuming that the series had been preempted or something, but just discovered today that three episodes had been broadcast but not recorded. You may be right, and without a side-by-side comparison it's difficult to tell, but my impression is that there's no (or much less) MPEG artifacting - visible block boundaries - and I thought the image was strikingly sharper.

What "different box"? As per my discussion with the support guy, a tech will be installing an HR-44 next week to replace my HR-34. Meanwhile, I'll test out that bit about pixellation/freezing occurring when you record on the channel you're currently set to; I'll try with NBC, ABC, and PBS.

I had to add thirty minutes, at least for the last episode. I had set it to fifteen minutes after last week, but that wasn't enough. Interestingly, the show reports itself as being 1:13, but that, clearly, is incorrect.

We set up a season pass for Fargo, but the episodes are not recorded fully (HR34, if that makes a difference), despite the fact that their length (1:13, for example) is listed. I'm manually adding time for each episode, but that seems unnecessary. Shouldn't DIRECTV know how long the program is and schedule itself accordingly? Or is there a setting that I've overlooked? I see the problem on MSNBC as well as NBC. Note that both are broadcast by NBC, so this is what I would expect. However, we saw it on ABC as well, when we taped the Academy Awards.
