And here is my result - obviously something's wrong with my latency. : Pinging 191.168.1.254 with 32 bytes of data: Request timed out. Request timed out. Request timed out. Request timed out. Ping statistics for 191.168.1.254: Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 0, Lost = 4 (100% loss),

Sorry, I'm very new to the internet topic. All I know is 150 ms is still really bad. I'm going to call tech support this afternoon. I sure hope it is something they can fix. Thanks for your help, and I'll tell tech support what you suggested. Also, I'm a gamer, would fixing the flux resister help even when gaming? I tend to start a match with a 4 bar conection (I game on ...

I have a terrible ping rate (150Mbps), and I would like to know if I could make it better. I plan on calling tech support later on this afternoon, but I would like to avoid that if I can find a solution. Thanks!

Thanks for your help. You guys may have the fiber optic cables which AT&T offers, but they're not available in my city. As you know, fiber optics improve internet latency performance, and I have a feeling that's why my connection may be slower than many others.

You're absolutely right, but no one has done anything to really fix the situation. I've already called tech support, and like I mentioned before.... they seemed clueless.

Even running 6Mbps shouldn't matter, you're one of the few satisfied AT&T customer I've seen. If I were to run a connection test - my ping rate would be terrible. Maybe it's my location? And thanks for your input.

I have talked with tech support, but they seemed clueless. AT&T's fiber optic cables are not avalible in our area, and I feel like AT&T couldn't make the situation any better. In addition, why doesn't AT&T offer PPPoE like many other ISPs do? I think that would improve the connection just a bit. Thanks for your help, and I hope AT&T can resolve this issue.

This is more of a topic than a question. I want to explain to everyone what AT&T's U-Verse is, and how to fix any issues associated with it. If you are a internet user exploring new realms beyond dreamed technologically possible, think again. If anyone every thinks U-Verse is a good ISP, please let me know. I currently have U-Verse and I want to switch. Just like many oth...

I found out the hard way too, AT&T is terrible for gaming, and their ping rate is around 150mbps! AT&T will have to do a lot better if they don't want to lose all of their business.

Our family uses U-verse, and it is terrible. AT&T's ping rate varies from time to time, and is mostly around 150mbps (which is very very very bad). If you plan on just using the internet for e-mail or facebook, it's alright. Personally, I'm a gamer, and I get a poor connection and start to lag due to the ping issue. Please, due yourself a favor and get comcast or go with ...
