it's not a security issue, nor a firmwarre problem, it's suppose to be that way, only you should have access to the internal system page for your modem within your home network of course, outside people don't have access to it.

Actually on my Motorola NVG510 the DNS Servers which 99.99.99 something for both primary and secondary, today they changed to the new ones, even google has the 99.99.99 dns issues documented were the modem logs them not repsonding. They were changed today well at least for me..

Well it looks like AT&T finally fixed the DNS servers on my end for the NVG510, I checked the log and there was a command to edit the etc/host file, sure enough I checked the Primary and Secondary DNS servers and they have now changed from the original to new one's which are Primary DNS 68.94.156.1 Secondary DNS 68.94.157.1

I have U-Verse Max (12 Mbps) I have NID to phone jack cat 3 wiring and was wondering if it would be worth it to request or diy and change from cat 3 to cat 5?

I have U-Verse internet with a Motorola NVG510 which is using Primary DNS 99.99.99.53 and Secondary DNS 99.99.99.153 which is hard coded into the modem by AT&T, the problem with this is that the modem will log that the DNS servers are not responding at time, which while I am not actually kicked offline ( ie, broadand & service light stay green, still connected to internet...

I have both a Motorola NVG 510 & PACE 5301-NV, aside from the Motorola 510 supportinng IPv6 which is enabled in my area, were as the PACE 5301-NV does not support IPv6 until AT&T updates the firmware with support for it, it there any reason to choose the Motorla over the PACE?
