I would go to a store front and talk to a real person face to face and put in an order. That usually works out better for me.

Hi youngjm, thanks for the link, but I can't find China on this page. I thought I'd go straight to Apple China at http://store.apple.com/cn/buy-iphone/iphone5s (site is in Simplied Chinese) to find out, but got confused even more. On this page, it says that 中国联通 (China Unicom) uses model A1528, and 中国电信网络 (China Telecom) uses model A1533. Then further down the page in the...

Now that you've mentioned it, I tested my iOS7 upgraded iphone5 with my wife's just upgraded to iOS7 iphone5. Lo and behold! Yes! The voice quality has greatly improved! I was wondering the same thing - how come the voice quality of 2 iOS 6.1.4 iPhone5s (plural form of iPhone5, not the newly introduced iPhone5S) is so terrible? It was worse than TDMA days! When you notice...

Hi, here are a couple of documents found by searching on Google for "multi rab data" RAB = Radio Access Bearer Page 18 (section 3.3.1 Multirab) http://www.4gamericas.org/documents/3GAmericas_QoSPolicy_Dec19-07.pdf I don't understand all of it, but just thinking out loud: radio bandwidth and base station processing power are limited resources. And when both voice and data ...

Yes, for now only iphone5. You can search on the web to see if the newly released iphone5s allows simultaneous voice and data for CDMA based carriers (Verizon,Sprint). I'm not 100% sure, but I do remember reading web articles about how the new iphone5s also does not do talk and surf for Verizon/Sprint. Should be same for iphone5c. Other phones, such as Samsung Galaxy S3 o...

When a voice call occurs, the iphone does a fall back onto UMTS (market terminology is 4G). So if you are seeing jumpiness between "4G" and "E", it sounds as if you are bouncing between a UMTS cell and a GSM cell. This ping-ponging between 2 cells can lead to call drops. Given this situation, you may approach at&t and request for a Microcell box to be installed in your ho...

delphipgmr wrote: no you didnt offend me. Im just curious if you're saying that there is some policy that says you cant move a number to another carrier, pay the cancellation fee, and then port it back to another valid AT&T line when you create it? (or have AT&T's retention dept just do it in the first place). But if you move the number to another carrier, then port the n...

Bowsplash, iPhone4 uses the microSIM, so if you're planning on trying out your sim in another at&t phone you may need an adapter for the microSIM if the other phone doesn't use microSIM. When you activated the number on this iphone, was it a brand new number, or was the number ported over from another service provider? You can look at this page (scroll down to "Portabilit...
