You are sadly mistaken and must not know how the US smartphone industry works. The carriers dictate the specs not the mfg, other than apple you do not see multiple storage capacites available for different phones even when its clear (Samsung) the mfg makes them available. Simply put the carrier places the order and they sell the phones, not the OEM.

The biggest issue with US wireless carriers vs the rest of the world is they have ALL of the control when it comes to what goes on their network, what works on their network and what they will sell for their network. Verizon phones suck in terms of choice becuase they cripple them and delay introducing phones and AT&T phones are what they are and sure we can get an intern...

That is not a correct statement. Not every Android phone can be rooted or unlocked. In fact Verizon and AT&T encrypyt their bootloaders so they cannot get custom ROM's. the GS4 and GS5 have not been defeated and since Samsung has added KNOX it has only gotten worse. In fact only a few models of the GS5 have been rooted and AT&T and Verizon are NOT among them. Here are the...

I am aware of the rumored S5 Prime or whatever it may be called, but we have no guarantee's that will make it to the US or that US carriers want another iteration of the same device with a minor changes. Yes QHD display, 3GB or RAM vs 2GB and .1" bigger screen but TBH you really can't say youi will notice the difference on a 1080p vs QHD display on a 5" screen because we ...

I agree completely but Samsung is a total mystery as to their logic. They launched in 150 countries at the same time, so for them a 32GB may not be a priority to mfg and ship while they meet initial demands. There was also the fire at one of their mfg plants that makes the GS5 which didn't help matters. Still they announced it was a storage option and they don't bother to...

It sounds like the market you live in has either oversubscribed towers or just poor backhaul capacity. In either case if Straight Talk is using AT&T and unless their MVNO agreement restricts bandwidth or other network capacity related terms then you would get the same service. I was on Verizon for 20 years and finally got fed up and left. Right now I am porting back to Ver...

The blue version is just a black phone with a blue battery door. Honestly I would get the black phone now and once the blue version ships you should be able to get the battery door from Samsung or any carrier as a replacement door instead of the fakes online.

I suspect we won't see it at all. Its a minor update to address some issues with the Nexus phones in particular. We won't see the next update from AT&T until next spring when 4.5 or 5.0 whichever it is arrives in the fall.

Sure they have purchasing power, but Verizon stopped carrying the 32GB Galaxy S devices in the store and sells them online only, claming lack of sales. No doubt that is true but its due to the inept sales people they have working there and at other carriers. Telling customers you don't need the space you have a microSD card. WRONG. You cannot move app data to the SD card ...

You can do that, but the phone will NOT use AT&T LTE spectrum and you are losing out. So the answer is to make a truly global LTE phone like they used to do with Quad Band GSM phones.

Where have you see Verizon 3GB GS5's? I haven't seen any yet and so far it seems both Samsung and the US carriers are only focusing on 32GB at launch, well at least T-Mobile is offering a 32GB version.

Locked bootloaders can be worked around, encrypted ones are likely never to be broken. Carriers insist its for our protection and their network integrity which is a total line of bullhockey. I used to flash custom ROM's all the time, loved doing it, knew what I was doing and was willing to stay up until 3am fixing a failed ROM install. Sadly we are the minority of users c...
