Hi- An update.....I ended up turning the wireless functionality off on the 2Wire RG and began using a Netgear Wireless router in its place for wireless only. Everything connected and happy. No problems. Still being annoyed and bothered by the problem with the 2 Wire RG, I tried an experiment- * Left all my wireless devices connected to my new Netgear wireless router * turn...

Thanks again for all of your help and suggestions. I was sure hopeful one of them would work. I guess I just was very unlucky and got a 2nd bad RG in the space of 3 days. The tech is coming out, again, on Friday. I'm guessing I'll get a new RG and hopefully that will resolve this. Just in case, I've ordered a Netgear wireless router to use, and will demand ATT reduce my m...

Tried your suggestions, still no joy. Assigned a channel number and reduced the power to 300, then restarted the RG....no improvement. As above, manually assigned channels get a sedlf assigned IP address that is unconnectible to wireless devices (you can scan and see the wireless networl, but can't connect). I think I hate this new router series.

That's a great suggestion. When I get home tonight I'll give that a try. How do you change the power setting, I haven't seen that function / control setting in the router settings page as yet. Thanks very much for the help and advice, I really appreciate it. I'll let you know how your new suggestions work out tonight. thx!

one addition.....when you manually assign a wireless channel, the router begins broadcasting on two channels - the one you assigned and channel 11. Fairly weird. That might explain the conflict which is happening

What seems to be happening with the wireless channel assignements- In the AUTO mode - it drops the ip address, if there was one, or doesn't assign one In the Manual mode - self assigned ip address which won't connect

hitting the rescan on the wireless page. Honestly, I tried various channels and had NO luck with correcting the issue. I don't know if it is correctable, I believe it's some sort of software issue, particularly after reading how many people are experiencing the very same issue. I've carefully looked at all my ip addresses, to ensure there's no conflict, and have tried just...

No joy. I just got home, tried your suggestions, and experienced the same issue. As soon as a device tried to join the wifi network, wifi disconnected and the network disappeared and could not be found when scanned. Looked at the router settings and sure enough, the wireless channel had changed, on its own, to 0, even though the channel was manually assigned to 11 9and sav...

I've been a uverse customer fro about 4 years and very happy....until now. Two weeks ago, my original residential gateway began to have issues with dropping the tv signal. ATT sent out a new residential gateway - a 2Wire 3801HGV. the new unit works great for TV and ethernet connected devices. Major issues with dropped wireless since this was installed. I'e done research a...
