Sorry, by "generic" I meant "I don't remember nor recognize the brand". It came in an egg shaped clamshell package. What I meant to imply was that you should just play it safe and get the QVS cable from MicroCenter or the SiiG branded cable to be sure. They are both $20, and you can just get the SiiG cable from NewEgg.com.

JFYI, picked up a 750GB Freeagent and generic esata-esata cable at Fry's last week. Unplugged my HR20-100S, connected the FreeAgent to the HR20, turned on the FreeAgent then plugged the HR20 back in and.....still had my original programming and stored programs. I am planning on picking up a Seagate Freeagent 750GB drive today. Can anyone tell me if, after the HR20 has formattted and updated the new eSATA drive, can I power down the HR20/Freeagent, disconnect the Freeagent drive, and power back up and watch what I previously had recorded on the internal 320GB drive? TIA.
