Hi David, Thanks for answering my call for help. No, there are no special ports or settings for the IP cameras to work. I do have each camera setup with their own static IP address and assigned a specific port for each one. This is how it was setup with the HGV3801 and they all worked perfectly. Here's an example of the public address that I use for one of the cameras: 17...

I've had Uverse now for almost two years. I have the TV, phone and internet bundle through the two wire 3801HGV gateway. I have three Trendnet IP cameras at my house and have always been able to acces them through the network using the public IP address and port number that I assigned in the Firewall section of the 3801HGV. Been working fine for almost two years now. I sh...

Figured it out. Had the wrong gateway plugged into the camera's settings. I just assumed that it would be 192.169.1.1, .like it is with most other devices but not this router. It is 192.168.1.254. Once I plugged those numbers in it started working perfectly. Hopefully, this will help someone else. This thread can now be closed.

Hi all, I am trying to get my ip cam setup so that I can view it when away from home. I have it connected to the gateway and can access it fine when using the LAN address 192.168.1.240:xxxx. I've gone into the firewall settings and created a pinhole using the instructions given by ATT for port forwarding. I created a user defined application with the port numbers that I w...

Problem solved I had all of the coax lines connected through my Open House video hub, Channel Plus model H8388ID. It was all working good until I tried to play a recorded video on this one TV, which just wouldn't work. Once I removed the hub and connected all of the cables to the splitter that the installer left for me it all worked normal. The installer told me that I cou...

Hi aviewer, and thanks for helping. RC54 - How is the TV connected to the STB. Sounds like the record/play process does not like what it sees on the HDMI. It is connected via HDMI THis is not the DVR itself? Could be the COAX/HPNA network. THe DVR should be connected to the RG via cat5. Can you try a cat5 connection instead of coax? No, this is just one of three STB's tha...

Whenever I try to play a recording on one of my TV's it doesn't work. Seems to work fine on all the other three TV's, but for some reason it will not work with this one particular TV. I can watch live TV no problem, and get into the Recordings menu, but when I select a recording to watch it will go to a black screen with a spinning circular arrow on the screen, like it's ...

I've learned a lot about all kind of things just by reading through forums at what other people have already experienced. In fact, that's usually how I find the solutions to most of my problems. I've found that almost always somebody else has experienced the same or a similar problem which has been resolved, and from that I can gather the knowledge that I need to resolve ...

JefferMC, You are absolutely correct that it doesn't make sense that I can connect to these cameras with my phone and not my remote computer. The more I thought about the more it just didn't seem right and make any sense to me so I decided to go back over all of my settings...one more time. On my remote computer (work computer) I had made shortcut links in my browser for ...

I know, it doesn't make sense, and I'm not sure if it matters, but I'm not entering the asddresses into my phones browser. I enter them into an IP Camera App that I downloaded from the Google App, or Play Store. Then the app does the rest. The app is IP Cam Viewer basic. In the settings there is a test function where once I enter in all of the information I do a test to s...

Short answer: Before uverse I had cable internet with my local cable company, so I had a public URL address with them. I don't remember that exact address right now. I remember it was something like 74.53.149.26, but don't quote me on that. Right now my camera's IP's are all static at 192.168.0.240, .241 and .242. The ports are 1050, 1051 and 1052, respectively. The Dlink...

Hey, JefferMC, thanks for taking an interest in my problem. No, my office is very small and is only behind a common Linksys router, WRT54G2. I was able to access the cameras from this remote location prior to Uverse, so I'm pretty sure it's not the remote site. At least, that's what my logic would dictate here, but maybe it's different when it comes to this networking stu...
