I wrote my post for less technically inclined people who may be experiencing a similar problem. Reloading static images is not currently a problem (though a proxy seems to be a great idea for the stuck-on-slow-DSL crowd). I intentionally overbought data so it wouldn't become one. (I do expect to eventually stream the occasional movie, once I settle in to the new environme...

This would be a great feature for those who have wireless Internet for their house. Satellite provider Exede allows their users unlimited Internet for a few hours each night. They can schedule their computer updates to run while they're sleeping and not have to worry about hitting their cap. I am such a user. My DSL was becoming unuseable, but there was no faster version ...

I recently switched my home Internet to LTE because DSL was no longer able to keep up with my needs. I looked at my history and found I typically used about 5GB, with peaks up to 10GB per month. I picked up the 30GB plan (courtesy of the double-data promotion from October '14) and was pleased with the resulting usability. However, for the first few days, I saw my data con...

The AT&T tech called yesterday to set up the transfer. Apparently, the plan change was a separate transaction that I could have done online.

slyfielj, I'm sure it will start before the next billing cycle, as I'll have the new device before then. The new device isn't available/compatible with my current plan at all (I still have a 550 min/mo w/ rollover and no text messages family plan). I might just have to activate it before seeing the change.

I transferred my landline (and DSL*) to a Wireless Home Phone with Internet a few minutes ago. I selected the 30 GB shared data plan as I intended to switch my family lines to the new plan ASAP because the only line that has data presently is max'd out with 8 days left in the billing period. However, I don't yet see the new plan on my account. Will the new plan override t...

Dcookie wrote: There are plenty of websites that you can find to read reviews on phones... It has been several months since that phone was added and there are still no reviews on AT&T. The Amazon reviews are a mixed bag. Not as bad as the other feature phones AT&T offers but not good enough that I'd be willing to pay so much for it. Especially since I can get a NOS Nokia ...

A shame. As of right now, the only feature phones are a pair of ruggedized varieties that get high marks only for being rugged (they're iffy on the phone department), an LG that is poorly reviewed, a Pantech (I don't even want to go there) and a Samsung that is so new that no one has even reviewed it, yet. (I'm not comfortable spending $60 to upgrade to an unreviewed phon...

My old feature phone is dying (as are its backups) so it is necessary for me to get something to replace it. Unfortunately, the feature phones offered at present are really underwhelming me in both selection and reviews. It seems that after the iPhone was introduced all serious phone development shifted away from feature phones to smartphones. I'm beginning to feel that e...
