I too am having battery drain issues. First thing I would do is make sure that Google Now is not active. It comes up as Google Search in the applications lists I believe. You can also go to Settings/Location Services/ and 'uncheck' Location and Google Search. Then, go to Settings/Battery and check for applications that are eating up a lot of battery. I found one applicati...

I have actually been having a similar issue with the I777 GSII. It just started happening in the last 2-3 weeks. I often get a piece of an old text message attached to a new one or a text message just shows up days after it was sent. There really is no way of knowing if anything is missed.

While the ACLU might be just trying to make noise with this one, their arguing that safety is compromised because companies like AT&T are so slow at getting updates out is spot on: http://www.dailytech.com/ACLU+Complaint+Claims+Slow+Android+Updates+are+Endangering+People/article30400.htm

bmgoodman, I can tell you that if you do a factory reset, it will allow you to update immediately. I know that is a pain, but if you are okay with that, you won't have to wait. At least it worked for me.

I am glad everything is working out for you meeksfor3. If you're interested in keeping your wife's phone up to date as well, you might want to checkout what version she is running. There is an update for the S3 that can only be made with the Kies software as well. http://forums.att.com/t5/Android-Discussion-and-Support/Galaxy-S-III-Update-to-Jellybean-now-available/td-p/3...

Once you have upgraded, you should check what your Baseband is. If it is not I777UCLL6, then you should initiate an over the air update to receive the current firmware update. On the same screen that you check your Baseband version, there is an option for 'Software update'. If you are still having problems after all of these updates, the first thing tech. support will sug...

It looks like you need to update to ICS (4.0.3) before you can get any of the subsequent updates. This must be done using a computer and the Samsung Kies program. http://www.samsung.com/us/kies/ http://www.samsung.com/us/support/SupportOwnersFAQPopup.do?faq_id=FAQ00047325&fm_seq=51324

You should start by checking what Baseband version you have. If you don't know how to do that, please do the following: Click the menu button on the bottom left of your phone's screen Then select 'Settings' Then scroll to the bottom and select 'About phone' Find 'Baseband version' here

Since AT&T has finally put out an update that is supposed to fix the last one (Sleep of Death), I think it is important to start a new thread with comments, questions, problems, etc. about it. Please keep the community up to date about the results of the latest update. Also, as of the latest update, my Baseband version is shown as I777UCLL6. I believe the last one was I77...

So before I did the new update, I decided to use Kies to backup my phone and then I did a factory reset. The OTA update went smoothly and I did an additional factory reset afterwards. Now I am trying to restore using Kies and it keeps stalling on the last task. The first time around it was Mini Diary, so I disconnected (even though it says not to) and did a restore with o...
