Beware that the McAfee Security Suite, free from Road Runner (a.k.a. Time Warner) does not contain a Firewall. Check U-Verse for this kind of shenanigans.

What do you expect from a Marketing Department? Yes Marketing and not the good old Network Department, which I read is going extinct soon (the wire-line stuff). Part of the problem may be that they put U-Verse on your "cable" instead of on your twisted-pair. I'm scoping U-Verse, as any 33.5 year middle-management AT&T Network employee with an EE should. A couple of years a...

Yes, by any means possible, call them. Also, ask them the distance of your twisted-pair from both the Central Office and the VRAD (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Video-ready_access_device ) whichever serves you. You can look up a distance limit. And, there are other considerations, e.g., a DSL and U-Verse line must be clean (e.g., no unused connections along the line ca...

Is your twisted pair from the above free of all other connections (cable taps) if not perfectly clean, demand a pair that is? And, finally, did they install enough Flux Capacitors for your particular area i...

I studied the heck out of outdoor cellular antennas (use in the boonies, and connect to the thing in your pocket). Amazon has them. Google people say they work. Cell companies are always given dozens of incorrect citizen reasons for putting up a tower, so like any good company they weigh the cost and effect. (Tom, EE, HAM, Former director of National Security and Emergenc...

Of course they provide working telephone numbers from their directory. Of course they don't sell your "personal information". Anyone on earth can accidentally dial your telephone number, whether it be Non-List/Non-Pub or in the lowest chamber of the CIA. Think now, does that make your number public? We have two lines ... one 10-digit number is on every list there is, the ...
