@mikenliz1993 No, you should not need a desktop and/or laptop or wired connection to start up your service. If you do a self install, you may need to use your browser on any device to finish your activation as noted in the self install guide. The default login information of the wireless gateway provided to you will be located on the gateway itself, commonly on a yellow ...

@Tawannas If your son is doing that, you might just want to do MAC filtering. The Wi-Fi password can stay the same when that is done. Just find the MACs of his devices(they're listed on the DHCP list or you can go into the device's settings/info to find it) and then go to the "MAC Filtering" tab of your wireless gateway's UI. Choose "Blacklist" and then choose his device...

Hello @picketyfence If you're having issues recovering your password, you can try contacting AT&T for further assistance. Did you already call? If you're not a current customer, phone/live chat support likely won't be able to help. If you didn't call, you can call 800.288.2020 or live chat by going to https://www.att.com/contactus/index/internet.html?tab=1 and then click...

@bladdtx Yes, when you do DMZ, you will want to choose the last option of DMZ+(DMZplus/allow all aplications). If you're just looking to use the Airport Extreme for its wireless capabilities and don't care about anything else, you might just be better off setting up the Airport Extreme as a wireless access point only(which turns off its router features) and forget all of...

@squill2121 I just briefly skimmed this thread, so sorry if it was already asked/mentioned. Are you sure your laptop has a gigabit Ethernet port and not just Fast Ethernet(100 Mbps)?

@Kay2243 You can learn more about the program by going here - https://www.att.com/shop/internet/access I briefly skimmed the FAQ questions and I don't think I saw anything mentioning that. However, I don't think you would be required to have landline phone services to qualify.

@Tigereyze209 G Fast DSL is likely not be seen in wide scale deployment. It's not exactly worthwhile with how things are set up. G Fast only really provides really high speeds with very short distances. It'll only really be useful in very dense areas/apartments being served by a nearby VRAD.

@miamirn Usually the discounts are part of a bundle, so you likely would lose it if you no longer have qualifying service tiers. If you log into att.com and go to the section to change your plan, when you downgrade to U-Basic, do the internet discounts on the right bar go poof and return to standard rate? If so, that would be your answer. If you would like to confirm it ...

@mystar What do your DSL stats look like? You can find them by going to 192.168.1.254 in your browser. If you have a Netgear device, it should be located by going to "Advanced" then the "Statistics" side tab. If you have a 2Wire/Pace, it should be under "Settings" then "Broadband." Post information such as things like max rate, sync rate, noise margin, and attenuation. W...

@jlmii2 If it was completely deleted or has gone missing - You can try the link below and see if it works for you: Yahoo! Mail Email Restore Choose "Mail: Accidentally deleted messages on mobile device" and then select the time frame of when you have last seen your emails. I believe it restores it to this point in time, so make sure you select a correct time frame. You c...

@tdeOnion15 AT&T can be called by dialing 800.288.2020 if you're having issues. AT&T does not read all of the posts here. If you wish to contact them by message, you can do so through these forums by sending a message to AT&T Customer Care. Customer Care can be contacted by clicking the link below and sending a message(expect a response over the next few days): https://f...

@Deeezzy7 Where those people wearing clothing with AT&T clothing? Seems a little odd that they don't have any information on them to give you. However, it's not uncommon to have home service providers hire people to go around to homes to sell services. It could always be fakes, but it's more often the real door-to-door sales reps. If you would ever want to order AT&T ser...

@gladivee You can find that information(wireless password) on the side of your AT&T wireless gateway. AT&T equipment comes with a yellow sticker on the side that has your wireless password listed on it. If you do not have a yellow sticker, it should be found on one of the other smaller labels on the side of your equipment.

@Mzjan2000 The amount of data mentioned in the announcement is included in your plan, an additional charge is not needed. If you go over your data allowance, you will be charged $10 for each 50 GB increment over the cap(up to a maximum charge of $100 per billing cycle, so 10 charges). The $30 charge is if you want to upgrade to unlimited data. Please see the chart below ...

@Karla0220 Was it not part of the Yahoo mail UI? If it was part of the email body, then do not click on the link. I tried looking that up for you and wasn't really able to find anything, except for other suspisions of phising attempts. I would not click on the link because of that. Also, it says "Att" and not "AT&T" which is a bit odd. In other words, don't click it and ...

The key(Wi-Fi password) can be found on the side of your wireless gateway if you are using an AT&T gateway. Most AT&T gateways have a yellow sticker on the side that has the network name(network ID/ssid) and the password(Wi-Fi password/key). See this AT&T gui...

@QJR8395 For wired, they are the same. They are both gigabit. For wireless, the 2.4 GHz radios are the same spec. However, the Pace model includes a 5 GHz radio while the NVG589 does not. The wireless security on both models would be the same. I believe the Pace is slower to boot up and a little less responsive. The 5268AC is also a tad larger in size than the NVG589. Do...

@MountainMotor You cannot officially use a 3rd party device with Gigapower. You must use the provided equipment. The equipment fee is built into the Gigapower tier.

@leobke When on the Yahoo Mail website version, to forward an email you must first click on the email you want to forward. Once the email is brought up, you should see a bar of buttons above the email. Look for the 3rd icon, it will show up as an arrow pointing to the right, click that button to forward emails. After you open up the option to forward it, enter the email ...

@Antiquity If AT&T U-verse is truly available across the street and you wanted it in your development, you would have to have have some higher up of the development contact the AT&T Connected Communties department I would believe. https://communities.att.com/ I'm not too familiar of the process for developments, but I believe Connected Communities is the way to go. @cwrichar Your note 3 and iPhone(if iPhone 5 and up) should be able to pick up the 5 GHz network. Not sure why you weren't able to see it. I wonder why it all went to trash all of a sudden. I don't think the networks around you are the cause of such a great drop. 30 feet is a little short. I wonder if your gateway is dying early. You will not be able to move your gateway...

@smwall No, you do not. Your phone line should be grounded where it enters your residence. I know some people put surge protectors on their DSL lines, but I personally wouldn't do it. There are too many junky surge protectors out there that could reduce your DSL signal and do no good.
