Saturday, almost 6 p.m. downloads from att.net still don't work. Checked my settings and they're as prescribed. Wonder how long, wonder how long.

Are you saying that you cannot get into your email online either? I learned that AT&T keeps lots of separate passwords, which I have now set to the same thing. Not only that, but it appears that they keep separate security questions for ATT.COM and ATT.NET. This was very confusing until I figured it out. Have you registered with both ATT.COM and ATT.NET? Like yesterday, AT&T's client email server rejected the password from Windows Live Mail, the 800CCC90 server error. Client uploads and perhaps dowloads are working again (I'm not sure about downloads because my incoming mail is now forwarded to a hotmail account). Thanks for the suggestion. I have had inconsistent luck with your approach, i.e., logging into att.net before trying to download. I have wasted hours with chat room reps who have inspected my settings and, finding they are ok, asking me to reset my password. They have even asked me to delete the account definition and do it over, which cost me a few emails until I learned...

Both web mail and Windows Live Maile downloads are working again. The password in use is the one I set at att.com. Wouldn't it be nice if confusion between passwords at att.net and att.com explained all my difficulties?
