Note, I have also tried at least one alternate port number, like 25125, still no dice, the port is not forwarded/pin holed. I've checked with the PFPortChecker utility to confirm this.

I've recently acquired some Insteon home automation equipment, the hub and IP camera specifically, and while I have been able to successfully forward/pin hole port 25105, I am for some reason, unable to forward/pin hole port 25110. The rule is there, set to the specific IP I wish the port to be forwarded to, but no dice, the port remains closed by the firewall. Obviously ...

A person who used to previously post quite a bit always harrangued AT&T for their greed and stupidity, this is just more of the same. Initially they created the 'Unlimited' plan, officially with no tethering, no Facetime (didn't exist then). Then made it required for anyone wanting to use a smart phone on their network. Customers didn't feel they should be required to pay...

I just find it odd that any company would need to add another charge to something that they're already charging us for. If/when Facetime is capable of being used on cellular data, we'll be paying for that data already. Why add a surcharge? It makes no more sense to me than charging for "enabling" tethering. (Yes, I know, AT&T has tethering turned on with a specific tier o...

johninsj wrote: Wow, way to top a year old thread. Here's the plain and simple truth. A service comes with a contract, which you read and agree to. The terms of the contract are the only legally binding thing that exists. All other arguments are meaningless. Currently, for $30, you can either get 3GB + metered billing, or if you have a very old plan that is grandfathered ...

Sure, I'll pray to the god's Romulus and Remus and sacrifice a chicken for you... But seriously, that's not the sort of thing that is discussed here...

Perhaps you're right. I can't rightly exactly recall the circumstances of their being locked and the one article I thought specifically mentioning "remote locking" of the phone I now can't seem to find. Lack of actual references/evidence puts me at your mercy on this one...

Untrue. All the various "lost" prototype iPhones over the years were locked remotely by Apple.

Yeah, but who was that poster's source? We all have to be carefull of "...hearing it from a guy, who's friend's mom's cousin, who works as a janitor for the mall where an AT&T store is located..."

Yes, like I mentioned in another thread, even if AT&T only has a 1% error rate in their billing each month (an EXTREMELY optimistic IF), that's still a crap ton of people who have billing issues.

Oh absolutely this will do nothing for people who have had their phones stolen prior to this point, however, for those of us purchasing legal phones, with this blacklist in place, it LOWERS the desirability and profitibility of stealing smart phones by criminals. If a criminal can't quickly turn around a stolen phone anymore, they're a lot less likely to steal one. For th...

Yes, but circumvention of burned in IMEI numbers requires specialized knowledge and tools. It's not something that every crackhead looking for a quick c-note is going to be able to do, and it will significantly reduce the number of phones stolen. The reluctance from AT&T and other companies to blacklist phones (and allow iPhone unlocks) was due entirely to the fact that, ...
