I have this problem too (HR24). Frustrating that DirecTV hasn't fixed this by now.

"I'm not sure I understand why someone would use a Microcell unless it were free." Have you priced out cellular repeating equipment? Do you feel like getting on your roof to put up an antenna? Bugs notwithstanding, the microcell concept is simple and effective. To me it is unrealistic to expect cellular providers to provide a strong signal inside each and every home (espe...

Don't worry about this. It probably means you're on a newer block of IPs. It took about 6 months before sites reported my vicinity when performing geolocation on my IP. It had no ...

You probably got the "5" from the 32mbps/5mbps sync profile required to get 24/3.

If you're not having problems with connectivity or TV reception it's most likely NOT the RG. Are you using AT&T's email server? Have you tried doing a traceroute to the problematic email server (when it's giving you problems?). Describe "intermittent". More details, please.

Although it may seem over the top to some, I think you're on the right track with the regulatory complaint. Someone from AT&T that handles special cases should contact you and work with you to ensure it's resolved. With any luck it may also get AT&T to look at why the regular support channels did not work in your case. Even companies that have otherwise good customer serv...

Depends on a lot of things. Do you have TV service? You may not get the full 18 down when you are maxing out your incoming HD streams. I can pull 24mbps from speed tests at any time of the day. When I FIRST signed up for service there was a 3 week period with evening slowdowns, but it was corrected and has not resurfaced since.

Do you know for a fact that anyone can call AT&T right now and ask that their line be tested for the 32mps profile even if the computer says no? I'm at 2700 driving feet from the VRAD (probably closer to 3000' w...

I don't understand why you're trying to bridge to the 2wire or add a secondary IP network. Turn on DMZ+, and turn off 2Wire's wifi, and then you can essentially treat the 2Wire as you would a DHCP cablemodem. DMZ+ will conveniently hand your Linksys the public IP address. This will make the Linksys the 2Wire's sole DHCP client (well, except set tops, if you have those), a...

Before the 32/5 profile was being rolled out publicly, there were reports from people w...

The option to disable DHCP is missing. So far it's been playing nice on my network, but I don't like not having an explicit setting to turn it off. Other than that web browsing is a lot smoother (even though I don't use the RG DNS), my max rate is higher, and my detailed stats are cleaner.
