Many companies do this and it always surprises me. Their options are: a couple keystrokes to keep you on the discount and keep the money coming in. Stand their ground, demand the full price and lose the money they were getting. It's throwing away free money.

Had a six month deal with ATT for a certain price. Four months into it, they raised the price. Simple and inevitable conclusion: you can't trust anything ATT says about anything.

Similar experience here. This seems so widespread that it definitely looks like ATT is running a massive fraud. Contact your state Attorney General's office. You can try the FCC too, but they are iffy. In my experience, they forward your complaint to the company, accept whatever the company says, then tell you it's been resolved.

Maybe they've gotten better, but BBB is in my experience useless. Try FCC and your state Attorney General's office.

I too have undergone many hassles with them around money - and dishonesty. If your state has an Attorney General that supports consumers (many do not) I'd suggest filing a complaint with the AG's office.
