It appears that this issue is a problem with many of the SD versions of channels, since I had the problem on WTTW this past weekend. I ended up switching to the HD version, since I was watching live TV, even though I was still actually viewing on my old standard def set. Of course the problem went away for the time being. It is kind of ridiculous to have to watch or record...

If your CRT TV is 4:3 & has component connection it will still display a smaller picture. Nothing that fancy over here. Just an old CRT hooked up via composite. I will try the zoom button on one of my HDTVs next time I'm watc...

aviewer wrote: NotEd - Since you said it is happening now, I gave it a try. It is pretty awful. If you hit the zoom/enter button (bottom right) & use the zoom menu to set it to zoom3 it looks a lot better. I don't appear to have a Zoom menu option when I press that button. When I click that button I get the options: Favorites Lists Add to Favorites Edit/Add Favorites Audi...

Also I just checked live and it is doing the same thing currently if I switch between the SD and HD live feeds of the channel.

I believe it was Elementary I had the issue with. SD shouldn't be pillarboxed, though. It should be letterboxed. The pillarboxing is cutting off the sides of the picture, so I couldn't quite tell what was going on when the action was on the sides of the screen. I know I could avoid this by recording the HD version, but the DVR just doesn't have a large enought hard drive ...

I was watching a recording tonight on my DVR from WBBM Chicago (Channel 2, SD version). I watch the recording on a SD set, so I am used to letterbox image on most recordings of current programs, but this recording was pillarboxed instead, obviously cutting off part of the picture on the sides. I also adjusted the output settings of the DVR to Widescreen SD and confirmed t...

From the lack of any response shall I assume that everyone has bailed on using the Inspire 4g? Honestly it feels like this phone was pretty much abandoned after the Gingerbread update. Good thing my contract is up and I can go consider other hardware and networks.

My Inspire 4g received the latest update from 10/23/2013 and seemed to be working fine until yesterday, when the GPS started having some flakely issues. Before if I was in an area without a clear view of the sky the phone would use a combination of Wifi and Cell towers signals to at least set me in the correct general area for any apps that use GPS hardware (i.e. Weather,...

No, everything was net connected. The DVR was onlt not connected to a TV at the time, as the TV was unplugged and moved. The DVR was sitting on a shelf with a live Coax connection and power at all times. Also other recordings would play fine. I assume it was some kind of glitch with the DVR. I had also been having intermittent playback issues with the STBs, where it would...

I wish I had noticed that in the previous post. Oh well. I wish I had been able to back up all the recording on the DVR, especially the ones from the channels I no longer have. Out of curiousity, was there an intermediate step I missed in the troubleshooting before the Disaster Recovery? If the issue occurs again in the future I'd like to keep from losing all the recordin...

I have the CIsco DVR and 2 STBs in my setup and the STBs were having issue playing back some of my older recordings for the last week and a half. It seemed to start after changing from a U300 to U200 plan, but that might just be a coincidence. When a recording would not play the STB would attempt to start the playback, then give an error and drop back out to the menu list...
