Yes, I have only been looking at sub-1000 channels. I think I could accept the black border, if it didn't cut off part of the displayed information. For example, when I look at the local channel 5 (KENS), they have a KENS5 thing in the lower left corner. But due to this cut off, I can't see all of the KENS5. The display starts about half-way through the E...? Copy on the ...

The reciever is wireless, and uses an HDMI cable to connect to the TV. I will have to compare it to some more channels, I think. (once the wife's programs are done) What is an STB? No, I am not getting HD channels as part of my package. Don't see the need for HD, but I do like running the higher resolution on the TV--the screen looks better than SD and we can see all of t...

Hmmm. Interesting. You are right, I was actually referring to zoom on the television remote, but I see there is a zoom on the U-verse remote. Thanks! That might actually help improve things. [update] If I use zoom 3, that seems to get rid of the black frame but it also cuts the top off the picture. Tried about 3 or 4 local channels just now. At the moment the only advanta...

Thought I would post this to help folks out. When the U-verse boxes were installed, both were placed in a room in the lower front corner of my home. Everything worked, but wireless would get spotty in the opposite corner of the house. I have Cat 5e cable run from that room (through the walls) to a central location upstairs in my home, so I moved the wireless unit up there...

Like you, I think AT&T could provide a better method to reach the Favorites easier. I set up my own set of Favorite channels to include everything in my subscribed package, to save me scrolling through all 2,000 channels that are listed. It is still cumbersome to go to menu, favorites, "My Listing", but it beats having to scroll through everything. As an aside, I also set ...

I agree. I'd really like to see MAVTV on U-verse. That was one disappointing thing when I left Dish, as they did have MAVTV and I really enjoy watching Off-Road Rally racing. Come on AT&T, please?

Hello everyone, I am a bit confused as to why U-verse seems to cut off the outer 2 inches (roughly) from each side of the screen. It does not matter if I have the resolution set to SD, "wide" SD, 720dpi or 1080dpi, each time it makes no difference. The edges all seem to be cut short, and in their place is black, like a picture frame. Yes, the TV can handle all of those di...
