Didn't see this thread before I tried to get one of these TVs to work with a Comcast Silver remote ... and failed. If your TV (Sylvania, Symphonic, Funai, etc.) remote looks like this: ... it won't work with any of the Uverse or cable remotes (Comcast, Time Warner, Cox, Bright House, Cablevision...). Funai has proprietary coding used with those TVs. But ... file this away...

Wonder if he'll post on some TWC forum that a door to door salesperson or CSR lied to him about having Longhorn.

You know, I do respect SomeJoe7777 for his expertise, but just look at this thread stretching four pages, and the solution above. And the NVG510 is AT&T's BRAND NEW "solution" for DSL and stretched-out areas of Uverse DSL. Think on that for a minute ---- they just transitioned to the NVG510 last year, and it looks like it does absolutely nothing different than the previou...

Remember, as well, that the "smart record" feature of the DVR will skip a rerun if it's already in the recorded programs. So, if you set up a series for your Iron Chef, "Any day, any time", and "First run and reruns", and the new episode runs at 9pm but reruns at 1am, the 1am showing won't be recorded if it's sitting there unwatched from the 9pm recording. However, let's ...

Dug around by using GOOGLE for your all-in-one, and this link is from HP itself, on how to set up faxing with VOIP -- which is Uverse Voice. Ironically, in your manual, they address pretty much everything EXCEPT how to setup with VOIP. This info is the same for just about all VOIP providers. And AS HP SAYS on its own site: NOTE: HP fax products are designed to work with o...

Went Googling (specifically for Comcast problems, as they're the biggest provider and would naturally have some sort of problems from their customers) and didn't find any. DirecTV's site tells customers with broadband access problems to contact NBA directly. (Link has e-mail address on the page.) Sounds like problems should be laid at the feet of the NBA.

IIRC, they weren't AF drives, but there was failing if it wasn't a 7200rpm. The AF drives seem to have a conflict with MediaRoom, how much of that is a function of the Windows CE base is anyone's guess. And, yes, they were SATA (pretty much anything 2008 or so and forward usually is). There has been, for years, a full diagnostics on the CABLE side of the converter realm, ...

My own observation from a few months ago was that there could be something in the software in conflict with the hard drive itself. Those discussions centered around the AF drives, and a conflict that was happening when those were being used. What would be interesting to try, as these 500GB DVRs are supposedly built with different chips and processors, is to downsize the d...

On Sony TVs it is called Light Sensor, under Menu > Preferences > ECO > Light Sensor > On or off. Other manufacturers use a similar technology. It basically adjusts the display based on the room light levels, sort of like how your thermostat tells the furnace/central air when to come on and shut off based on temperature level it senses.
