Busternutt has some good advice. My GS4 had problems with rebooting when a change in wifi occured after the lollipop upgrade. Sometimes it would turn off completely. I backed up on Kies 3 and had google backup going for me. I tried a cache wipe that didn't help the reboot problem but did make the phane more reponsive. The factory reset, google reinstall and kies reinstall...

ATT George called me back on 5/12 and did not shed any light on the VER:06.04.24A upgrade. He had no knowledge of it and could not tell me why my 7550 would not upgrade. My 7550 is under warranty and he said I could pursue that but I have no complaints about connectivity and wifi (10 devices). It seems there aren't any 7550s running the new software and that all the 7550s...

I got a response from ATT this afternoon (Sunday, Mother's Day) on my answering machine after following ATTMarianaCM's instructions. It was George from ATT and this is what he said in a nutshell. 1 VER:06.04.20 is currently sufficient for the 7550 operation 2 He is not aware of VER:06.04.24A and what it might do 3 He will get back or I can call him (didn't leave a number)...

What speed increase are you talking about? My internet is stuck at 3Mbs until the cable company gets my biz. I had a 10 yr old modem alcatel speed touch home working until a lightning strike 9 months ago. It was spec'd at 8 Mbs. A good reason to upgrade your equipment is that ATT won't support your old equipment if you have a problem. Having a supported gateway is a good ...

From my experience, AT&T is your only support on the 7550 and they don't seem to provide anything in manual form. While Netgear says... Resolution: The 7550 Modem Router was sold directly to AT&T ISP and came with no support. These units were somehow now available in retail channels. These units should come in a brown box. NETGEAR does not provide any technical support su...

Sounds like you're S0L. Could the code have been swapped with another device and would ATT keep track of serial nos and codes? Call them and ask is my last suggestion.

Did it shutdown and reboot? You could be working with a brick.

I beleive the reset button is on the side of the gateway with a red circle around it. I have never seen instructions/manual for the 7550 but typical routers use a paper clip or similar item to reset. Do a search on lenght of time (usually 30 secs) and and off/on cycle.

Sounds to me like the code has already been changed to prevent tampering. A gateway reset would be necessary to use the printed code to get into the Netgear menu and make a change. A reset would wipe out all your connection settings. Do you really want to do that?

I looked at the advanced settings in the netgear menu and couldn't find a way to do it either. I think putting the 7550 in 'bridged mode' and using a router would work for a network. Also setting the dns servers on the individual device will work. I've done it on my old cell phone.

My Netgear 7550 indicates the following on the manual update page.... Current Software Version: VER:06.04.20 [Available Software Version: VER:06.04.24A] Last week I tried to upgrade manually (in hopes of better performance) and it downloaded and auto rebooted but the 7550 still showed the old software. Then last night the auto update kicked in and the modem/router log sho...
