Never had any problems connecting our two 3GS's to an M-cell on iOS 4.3.5.

To add tethering is to change data plans. AT&T has announced that those with unlimited dataplans that use excessive data (current talk is >6Gb month) will see download speed reduction much like Comcast.

They will benefit from improved Backhaul so should see downloads go from @ best 1.5 Mbps to 7.2Mbps the uploads limited from current 0.01Mbps-0.3Mbps to more consistent 0.5-1Mbps if other cities that have their HSPA+ online with full backhaul activated. Most commonly the GPS and SMS failures have been due to either the device NOT being connected DIRECTLY to the cable/DSL modem or the M-cell not getting consistent GPS signal it self. It IS suppose to send SMS. I would power down phone and remove its number from approved list, then power down M-cell, make sure direct connection to modem, power up, re-enter cell phone number...

Yes! The M-cell must have GPS in green and the device near a window and it really only works well if it is the first device connected to your modem. The instructions say otherwise but after 600+hours of use with multiple approved phones, believe that I know what I am talking about. Our service has crashed as a tower north & south of us degraded to nothing in 6 months going from 4 bars inside to 0! Call AT&T in May and they state in month will have towers up, month later only 1 tower up and next tower will take 3 months from May.
